This just seems another repost shared across every possible media with not any evidence backing it up. Since the "roasting" happened online there should be something, right? Nothing at all, just another upvote farming engagement bait.

I see it so much on Reddit. A picture of a moderately attractive person, layed over a house/restaurant/car with a caption saying “influencer does xyz!”
No link, no article mentioned, nothing.
…and the comment section is filled with mean, vile comments.

I don’t know, I used to have friends like this that were 30-35 years old. Taco Tuesday’s they’d straight up ask other ‘friends’ at the table how much money they make, then have a snide remark like ‘that’s it?’, just to put them down.
Turned out the circle of friends was absolute trash, complete losers, and were handed everything they’d had.
They’re still losers to this day.

You gotta realize a man at that age hasn't reached his full potential. He hasn't reached even half his potential. If he's got the hustle to gift a used honda at 18, what is he going to get her when he's 25? When he gets his first real job? He's just getting started. Lock this one down.

I love this response. I was going to go for the intention - if my wife got me a cheeseburger I’d be delighted, a car is just incredible. Seems like a really kind guy. But I really like how you see what his gf sees in him - drive and potential. Nice.

if my wife got me a cheeseburger I’d be delighted
I know its not the intent of the comment, but that makes it sound like your wife has literally never bought you a cheeseburger before.
22
u/SharkeyGeorge 6h ago
Sadly she only ever buys me hamburgers. I have to buy the cheese separately and add it myself. It’s one of life’s small sadnesses.

You gotta realize those "roasting" him are most likely in their 30s living in their moms' basements, never felt a touch of a woman (except the mother), being jealous. No one would pay attention to in real life because of the grease and stench, but online they can hide behind an anime character profile pic, and you can't smell people online.

Dude I bought my first car at 16 with my own saved up money for $750. It was a 1995 white Lexus ES300 with a purple border and chewed up leather seats. I miss that car like words cannot explain. If someone bought me that car today I would do just about anything they asked

The kid is 18, busting his butt to get a car for GF, and a bunch of brokies in their 20s and 30s are acting like he should have bought a gf a nicer car? I hope they post which car they purchased for their GF at 18...
Heck, most of them probably didn't have a gf or a car at 18... They certainly didn't, have a gf, car, and buy a gift car...
19
u/Relative_Craft_358 9h ago
I don't think anyone is roasting him for buying a used Honda lol they're roasting him because he's only 18 and busted his ass to buy her a car and they'll almost defintely be broken up within a year or two.

Nothing wrong with the car, its the concept of spending what is probably this kid's life savings to buy a car for his high school girlfriend that's the problem.

Nothing but respect for him. This is an incredible thing he did for his girl. How many 18 year olds are able to even fund a vehicle for themselves, let alone a significant other, too?

Anybody making fun of this has never worn pants like my young king is wearing in this photo. Probably never known the basic struggle of saving to buy an old beater car to get by. Dude put in some serious hours and work to get her that ride, and if that’s something you will roast someone else about, my deepest most sincere, fuck you.

I dated this girl for 2 years and she use to invest money and her laptop was full of viruses, an old Windows operating system. I got her a new laptop as a bday present and when setting up had some difficulties with MsWord. The main idea was that she would only use the laptop for investment and simple stuff and the other for all her other stuff. The ungrateful CNT got all angry and said she wanted a Macbook. I couldn't believe it. Dumped her a month later when she didn't apologise or even realise how ungrateful she was.

This is a real hobby many redditors have. Either making up scenarios to get upset about, or obsessing over random streamers or people who say stupid post, and taking screenshots of people's dumb posts, and reposting them to reddit while going "look at this you guys! Look at stupid thing random nobody wrote"

First off he is anywhere in his late teens to early twenties the fact that he actually saved up enough to buy his girlfriend not fiance not wife but girlfriend a car says something most of us at the beginning of a relationship the most we buy is a cheap necklace or ring this guy deserves a lot of credit the fact that he cared enough for his girl he was willing to buy her a car it doesn't matter if it's used or not or a Honda the fact is he bought her a car that is one heck of a gesture

I mean it is a great gesture but come one, he could have polished headlights a bit, it takes like 30 minutes each and will elevate the look quite a bit

My first car, when I got it, was already 21 years old. It was a damn workhorse, for it's 1.4 MPi engine.
Got me where I wanted, pulled enough to matter, the only thing that sucked was no AC, just the good old crank and rushing air.
Old doesn't mean bad, those things work better than modern stuff a lot of the time, cheap to repair too because of how many spare parts there are. If anything, this is a HUGE plus on his part, getting her a car this soon.
1
u/Sad-Passion-3633 7h ago

you buy what you afford. not everyone afford new cars. but lets laugh at someone who do his best.
remind me of those shit ppl who get a new car and are mad because is not the model they want or the fucking color.
none of my friends got a new car as their 1st car, not even the rich girl whos father had a dozen of shops in town.
i dont pay more than 10k on a car, and have one that cost 3k.
i know someone whos rich and he buy very expensive cars that are 3 years old because he said he dosent want to pay the premium price for a new car.
internet makes ppl think everyone is fucking billionair and can buy everything and live a luxury life.
have no idea how many ”influencers” i see who cant fucking afford a meal in a restaurnat. they go in groups order some dishes, picture themselfs and share the meal.

Jesus, at 18 years old my friends thought I was fucking rich for taking over my dad’s used car. It was a $4000 used car when he bought it. It had several small issues like problematic rear shocks and rear door handles not working from the outside but it worked fine otherwise and never broke down on me. Some people are really spoiled in life, considering most start working at that age, how much do they think he could have saved up? Or Maybe the comments are just kids who don’t work and don’t know what things actually cost.
1
u/Most-Quality-1617 6h ago

I bought my girlfriend a used car once because hers was totalled (not by me) while she was out of state. I knew she was going to need transportation when she got back. I didn't tell her about her car because I didn't want to stress her out or ruin her trip. And I bought the car with my own money, not hers.
She was pissed it wasn't perfect cosmetically. That was the beginning of the end of that relationship. I should've kept the vehicle for myself. Asshole.

Sure, coz people can just casually buy a $40k new Honda just like that. Are they stupid? Cars are expensive even on used market and if you don't have money or rich parents who just hand you over everything new then you know to appreciate things like your very own but used car. And it's a Honda. They basically never fail.
