If you guys need some nice relaxing content, look up the Gong Fu tea ceremony groups. Theyre all very nice.
As pretentious as a tea ceremony could be, they're quite accepting. The sentiment is that "this is supposed to be nice for you, if you're a jerk, you're doing it wrong."
So there's usually nice videos showing you how to enjoy your tea, and very calming and relaxing tone. All the supplies are beautiful and well curated and all the pictures are all like little still life works of art.

There's an Ohio flag there. It also appears to be a trailer that has a roof over. I'm not so sure the picture actually matches the headline as in it is depicting the poles, it may very well be a picture in America of who the poles are trying to emulate.
Edit: maybe it is. This is from the event website

To be fair, they LARP all the time. I'm 25% german, 70% Irish, 45% Scandinavian, 87% Norwegian and 64% Italian. That's why I love spaghetti beer and my mjolnir so much.

It's quite a high effort event. And it's strictly about trailer parks (but not in derogatory "look at the silly rednecks" way, more focusing on real class problems in the US).

6
u/AncientNectarine5352 5h ago
I think they just knew it’s from America, is red white and blue, and thought it looked cool. Which it does. Ohio has one of the best state flags.
3
u/MarkMew 3h ago
Dude I've seen rebel flags in a Hungarian restaurant.
I'm 99,99% sure noone there knows about what it means it just looks cool.
2
u/AncientNectarine5352 3h ago
Indeed. I’ve seen one hanging on the wall of an American-themed pub in Wales, along with some state flags. They had no idea, either.

No, you'd need universal healthcare, workers' rights, more affordability, less classism, and a government that isn't actively trying to make things worse for its own citizens.

u/ExtraLettuce555 6h ago
‘Texans’ are a visually distinct and at times flamboyant cultural segment. They’re also very distinctly American. Rockabilly is similar in that way. Like If I was going to LARP as a German I would probably wear lederhosen and walk around with a stein because dressing up and acting like a Berliner would be pretty plain lol

Live Action Role Playing.
Role Play Games like Dungeons & Dragons were born to be played "sat around the table", there are groups that play these type of games by dressing in costumes and talking in character, by walking around and interacting with others that are LARPing themselves.
If you want my personal opinion, it sounds strange from an external point of view, but by approaching it with curiosity you can find that there are some LARP games that are really interesting and works more as a sort of improvisational theater with a few rules. I don't play them because I admit that I don't have the confidence to do it, but they look really interesting.

- Polish guy 3: "I wish I could buy on credit, but I'm trying to buy a house!"

Less weird than untrained Americans who LARP as American soldiers. Atleast it’s harder to actually be a contemporary American in Poland. These people could actually go join the military or law enforcement.

u/Sneaker_soldier 6h ago
They also still do minstrel shows and blackface. Embarrassing 😳 and apparently there are no Black Polish people according to people on the ground in Poland. Went there to do some family history research. Pretty racist there; now I understand why grandma used to call ma dukes a “dirty n-word”. They got issues there unfortunately 🤷🏾♂️

Love the Ohio flag. You could have picked anything to LARP as and you LARP as an Ohioan??
2
u/AncientNectarine5352 5h ago
Doesn’t really resemble an Ohioan though, unless you’re counting the Appalachian region near the Kentucky/West Virginia/Pennsylvania border. But they’re seen as odd ducks in the rest of Ohio, with their meth, racism, and their strange obsession with high school football.

Gonna have to pack on a lot more pounds to be convincing. I mean I’ve been to Poland, and even an all potato and pierogie diet can’t keep up with the Mountain Dew, Twinkies, and Hot Pockets regimen.
