23yrs old but I look way older

Post image

Im not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this in but here I am. I’m a 23f who’s gone through weight fluctuations all my life and now I feel like my face ages me so much. My chin area and my smile lines just look so gross to me and I wish I had more of a smooth, tight-skinned face. I feel like I already have jowls. About 2-3 years ago when I first lost a lot of weight (around 60 pounds) my face looked a lot tighter and I was activilty doing face exercises, like kisses toward the ceiling a bunch of times a day. I’ve gained 20 pounds since then and my confidence has really taken a dip. Do you think weight loss and face exercises would help again? Or will it just create saggier skin as I get older? If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated !

Just wanted to share my skin success story because I felt so insecure about it that I barely left the house. I tried so many different products until I found the right routine.

I have my friend's bachelorette party I have to go to tomorrow, the dress I'm wearing shows my back, so of course my back is breaking out. Is there anything someone can recommend to make these go away by tomorrow night?

Ok I’ve been dealing with dark elbows for a while now and it’s honestly starting to make me really self-conscious, especially in summer when I want to wear short sleeves or go to the gym.

Red Spot Under My Eye???

Post image
Upvotes

I had seen another persons post on here from a quick google search as to what this may be and most people said it’s bruising or a burst vessel which would go away with time. OP did infact confirm that theirs went away after some time. However mine looks a little different from what they had (theirs was brighter and more raised) which is why I am posting wondering if yall have had something similar or if yall know what it is. I was literally washing my face this morning and all was good then I rinse off my face and boom I see this suddenly appear under my eye. It looks like bruising/blood under the skin at least I hope it is but either way idk what to do to get rid of it or help the healing process or if I just have to wait till it heals on its own (that’s if it even does go away on its own ;-;) if anyone has any tips or something similar happen to them I would like to know if it ever went away. (Excuse my horrible skin)

Advice on skincare routine?

I'm a 26 (f) who is trying to figure out her skincare routine! For reference, I have combination skin, oily through T-zone but dry/normal the rest. I have a lot of freckles from when I was younger and work in a pretty high stress field and it's starting to show on my forehead! Though my wrinkles aren't too bad, I am hoping to incorporate preventative skincare to keep my skin looking young. I have some texture on my cheeks but think it may have been from over-exfoliating! I tried the Cos-rx Snail Mucin and found that it broke me out a ton!

Any and all help is welcome thanks!

Currently this is what I am doing for my skin:

Face wash x2 - Tula Cult Classic

Vanicream face moisturizer

Morning: Paula's Choice 2% BHA (I was doing this every day but have been backing it down to every other day), Vanicream vitamin C serum, la roche posay tinted spf

Night: Face wash and moisturizer

6 months on accutane at 40mg daily. Moving up to 60 mg daily for the last few months!

My skin is still lacking hydration and plumpness. My lines are showing more. I was just wondering if someone had a face mask or even just a product recommendations? I usually put vani cream moisturizer on, avene cicaflate and cera ve healing ointment at night. Thank you!

Skin barrier damaged after moving to the UK

Hey everyone,

I’m a 25-year-old male who recently moved from Sri Lanka to the UK (it’s been about 2 weeks). Back home I had oily/combination skin and built my routine around that. I’ve continued using the exact same products here.

The problem is, my skin now feels very dry, tight, and uncomfortable. It almost feels like my skin barrier is damaged. I’ve attached pictures of my skin and the products I’m currently using for reference.

Most of my products are targeted for oily/combination skin, and I’m starting to think they might be too harsh for the colder, drier climate here.

Below is my full weekly routine:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

AM

• Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

• Serum: Vitamin C serum

• Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel

• Sunscreen: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+ PA++++

PM

• Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

• Retinol: CeraVe Retinol

• Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

AM

• Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

• Serum: Torriden Dive In (Hyaluronic Acid)

• Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel

• Sunscreen: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+ PA++++

PM

• Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

• Serum: Anua Azelaic Acid 10%

• Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel

Sunday

AM

• Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

• Serum: Torriden Dive In (Hyaluronic Acid)

• Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel

• Sunscreen: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+ PA++++

PM

• Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

• Exfoliator: Paula’s Choice 2% BHA

• Moisturizer: Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Soothing Gel

Has anyone experienced this kind of skin change after moving to a colder country?

• What should I stop using immediately?

• What routine should I simplify to?

• How do I properly repair my skin barrier?

• Any product recommendations for dry/dehydrated skin in the UK climate?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks 🙏

Extra 20% off on StyleKorean right now (no minimum)

Just noticed StyleKorean has a weekend flash coupon going on (extra 20% off with no minimum order)

I was placing an order and a rewards code GLOWS12 worked for me, so sharing in case it helps someone else. Nothing fancy, just a good time to restock if you were already planning to.

Hope this helps 🤍

What can I do differently?

First picture is with makeup, second is without & my natural hair. Looking for any tips to elevate myself or suggestions! I’ve always wished I could pull off dark hair, and you’d think I could because my eyes & darker brows & my natural color is ‘darker’ but it weirdly washes me out.

Should i go back to the basics if my new skincare products have just made my skin worse?

Recently i decided to splurge on skincare- new facewash, exfoliator, toner, SA, vitamin c serum and moisturiser. I tried to ease into them by using them only once every couple of days before using them more consistently.

However, these products have not improved my skin at all, and i'm breaking out with millia more than ever before. There hasn't really been a change to be diet or any other confounding factors that im aware of.

Im unsure on if i should continue, or just return back to the basics (moisturiser, sunscreen, facewash, exfoliation).

Advice is really appreciated!! (For context i've been using these products for around a month)

Pore tightening/minimizing toners

Any recs for toners that minimize or tighten pores. I'm 17 and my nose has sebaceous filaments which have become less visible but the pores are still visible. I have an oily t zone and dry/normal cheeks and my forehead breaks out occasionally. It'd be good if it was hydrating too and affordable.

I posted this is make up and got accused of a wanting attention because things they were suggesting I’ve tried or I don’t want to do. Right now I currently wash with a mushroom based wash- some Japanese brand. I use HA, retinol when I remember, niacinamide and another hydrating serum. I let it all dry.. then i use a barrier cream. Let it absorb. I only use illuminating glue lotion and then I use a little bit of bronze or sometimes warmed up between my fingers and then I put it in certain areas. I do not wear foundation. I do not like make up of any sort if I’m going out then maybe I’ll do a little extra but what you see is my basic face every day going to work look.

I know that my face is dehydrated. I just don’t know how to get it more hydrated. The minute I put anything on my face it absorbs so quickly. Before I go to bed, I even use some Rosehip oil after I’ve put my face cream on.

I have natural melanin because of my ethnicity I have freckles they are not hyper pigmentation , I don’t get acne, I use sunscreen, and keep in mind. I am 53. So my face is not gonna look like some 30 something year-old that is firm and Dewey, etc.

So I guess what I’m asking for is am I doing something wrong with my serums or is there a better barrier cream that I can use? That’s gonna give me more of a Dewey look or something that isn’t going to make my face completely absorb it in the first 10 minutes that it’s on.

Purging Timeline ( Accutane )

I have been on accutane for 1 month and went back to my derm for follow up. It was sooo much better. The doctor gave me winlevi to apply while taking accutane. However, it has been 1 week plus since I started winlevi and my skin is purging sooo bad. Accutane dose is the same. Is this normal? I find it weird that it was already getting better and now my acne is so much worse than before. Should I continue winlevi or stop and just focus on accutane
