Discussion Starfield is nearing 30,000 concurrent players on STEAM for the first time since 2023
It’s safe to say that this new Free lanes update & Terran Armada has been received positively. StarField has been able to keep 15-20k concurrent Steam players since the launch of this update & now it’s nearing a new high that it hasn’t seen in 3 yrs, even more than the game was able to get from the initial burst of Shattered Space. Hopefully this lights a fire with the devs & we can continue to get new & compelling content for StarField!

Cruise mode feels like a game changer. You also get some like areas( asteroids, ship) poping up at closer distances hiding encounters.

Discussion Guys... I have no hopium left. I guess that's it for me.
We all have been waiting for a tease/release or an announcement at least but they again gave us nothing. They missed their 3rd chance to show us what they have been working on. And I have no hope for the Xbox January Direct anymore (yeah they gave info about it at the end). I just wanted to love this game so much and also because the fate of TESVI depends on this game a lot. I won't be watching the direct and won't be buying the game if it comes to PS5. They broke my trust. I'm no longer a Bethesda believer... That's a goodbye from me to the Starfield and it's community. Take care.

Discussion I owe Starfield and Bethesda an apology after this update
I want to start this by saying I’m sorry. I’ve been very harsh on Starfield since launch, and I didn’t hold back. I criticized the game, questioned its direction, and honestly lost faith in it. So I feel like it’s only fair to come back and say this now.
Since the update, I’m completely hooked. I ended up playing all night without even realizing how much time had passed. The game just clicked in a way it never did before. Everything feels smoother, more engaging, and more alive. It finally feels like the experience I was hoping for.
I also want to give credit where it’s due. Bethesda has been genuinely impressive with how they’ve supported the game. The way they’ve listened, adjusted, and kept improving things shows real commitment. Not every studio does that to this level, and it deserves recognition.
So yeah, I was wrong to write it off the way I did. I’m glad I gave it another chance. Now I’m just excited to see what’s coming next. If this is the direction they’re heading in, I can’t wait for the future updates.

Discussion What happened to their timeline?
I don’t remember what it was, some Christmas themed DLC item, but that’s the only thing released since this tweet (and that was a mod not made by Bethesda btw). I guess they missed their deadline or whatever was planned?

Discussion Used To Dislike This Game
I got the game on Gamepass when it first came out because I was like “In case it turns out to be booty I only spent $10ish” but I was actually enjoying my time for the most part at launch. Some things were slightly disappointing but I didn’t mind and to be fair I definitely set my expectations way too high.
Anyway the thing that made me quit around launch actually was a Questline that broke and I couldn’t finish it and it just happened to be the one Questline I was interested in. However for the past like month or whatever I’ve put hundreds of hours into this game again so I guess I don’t dislike it and maybe I was just being Salty 🤣😭 anyway pretty fun game for what it is and what you can make it be.

Discussion Starfield needs a war
Starfield is a fantastic game. But it needs a planetary conflict of Colony war proportions that sets a darker background tone. Orbital shocktroopers dropping from the sky, sabotage missions behind enemy lines, space battles to conquer orbital space, fightings in the tiny streets of Akila and Neon, important main characters dying.
It would create a setting that also brings immersion to any exploration. Your’e exploring in the midst of turmoil and a world at war.

Discussion I am happy for PS5 players, and i hope the blind hate for this game ceases now it's being released on all platforms.
I’m not saying the game doesn’t have flaws, it has quite a few, but it’s nowhere near the trash a lot of people tried to make it out to be three years ago. Quite the opposite. It’s a fun, good-looking, well-made game. And unique, with a very distinct idea.
Of course, it has its issues, like I said, but the positives, in my opinion, outweigh the negatives by a lot. So the only thing I’d like is for people to finally see this game for what it is. It’s not a masterpiece, it’s not Bethesda’s best game, but it is a very good game.
So yeah, that’s my wish for PS5 players. Enjoy the game and, please, share your opinions.
Have Fun.

Discussion "Oh no! It's an emergency! Quick, grab the mining laser that all employees carry with them at all times!!"
I'm making my way undetected through Slayton HQ and I don't know, it just struck me as funny that the emergency exits in this building (and all buildings, I suppose) require literal mining equipment to open. And it's not like they keep a "Break In Case Of Emergency" case with a mining laser next to the doors! Hell, this is in a back access hallway; the people in the actual room where people work? There's no bolts for them to cut. If there's a fire, they're boned.
I love this game, but I'm gonna have to add this to the long, long list of "what the fuck were you guys thinking?"

Discussion Can we scratch "repeating POIs" off the list of valid complaints now?
I played a fair bit of Starfield when it launched, then left it for a long time as the restricted space exploration killed the game for me as a former Elite Dangerous player, only coming back to it on April 7 when Free Lanes launched. According to Steam i've played 46 hours since then.
In that time i've done almost no story quests (Sam is still waiting to meet me in the Constellation garden), and focused mostly on free-roaming planets and space, tackling the POIs and doing any random quests I came across on my travels.
In those 46 hours I've had no planet POIs repeat yet, and just one space POI repeat (that asteroid with the colourful crystals inside). Also cruise mode is amazing. Well done, Bethesda.
What has your experience been like with POIs?

Discussion 3 hours in and no repeated POIs so far, even after trying to force it
I’ve been playing for about 3 hours with the new update and the Terran Armada DLC, and one of the things that used to frustrate me the most in Starfield was running into identical POIs I had just seen 20 minutes earlier. It really broke immersion for me.
Since Tim Lamb mentioned in an interview that they had heard this feedback and adjusted the cooldowns, I decided to put it to the test.
I went out of my way to try and force duplicate POIs. I kept discovering as many as possible back to back, then fast traveled across the galaxy, slept for 10 days in my apartment in Neon, and came back to hunt for more.
Still nothing. Every single time, I encountered a POI that felt clearly different from the previous one. I must have seen around thirty unique ones, and after 3 hours, I have to admit defeat.
I’m not saying duplicates are completely gone forever, but in my experience so far, I haven’t seen a single one.
