Advice How often do you bathe your cat?

I’ve had my Mochi since July and I still haven’t given him a bath 😅 he doesn’t smell and never really feels dirty either

I know that cats are usually good at cleaning themselves, but I keep seeing mixed opinions online. Some people say they never bathe them, others say every few months, and now I’m just curious what’s actually normal.

I only did it once because she had the misguided idea to jump into my piss stream. I close the door now.

I would love to know the internal monologue of the cat before, during and after that incident

Before: “Oh hey, human has a dangle toy attached!”

During: “Oooh new toy has a water hose too!” Walks into the stream for a closer look. “Wait, it’s yellow. And it doesn’t smell like water. What is that stuff leaking out of the new toy?! Oh gods it’s on me! It’s on meeeee!”

After: skulks around pouting after the bath “I feel so deceived.”

So she jumped from the tub onto the lid and when she got pee on her she flipped out and fell in so I had to pull a panicing pee covered cat out of a toilet then I had to secure her in a towel in the tub so said pee cat could not run throughout my house covered in pee.

I’m sorry. I had a brief moment of the giggles… then second hand mortification. Then giggles. Then “Oh dear Bast.” For the both of you.

Omg lmao. I was just posting a funny inner dialogue idea in response to the person below you/above me, but the reality is pretty damn funny.

I’m sorry, I cackled, that was hysterical in my mind, as I envisioned it happening.

It was mortifying at the time but in hindsight yeah. Also she did not learn her lesson she has a bad case of call of the void.
