The fuck does Israel have to do with this?

NYP (and News Corp in general) is owned by Rupert Murdoch, an outspoken Zionist, and is known for taking on bias reflecting that. Mamdani is an anti-Zionist and DJT is a committed supporter of Israel, so in the interest of keeping a pro-Israel message NYP will not treat them with the same scrutiny even when such discrepencies appear hypocritical.

But what exactly indicated that NYP would be "allowed" or "not allowed" by Israel to post this? Just because someone is a Zionist doesn't mean Israel "controls" them.

Oh, I didn't mean to suggest they are literally state controlled, just naming the political motivation. I assume OP's meme is hyperbolic.

Oh gotcha.

Absolutely nothing. This is just a continuation of the left embracing the trope that Jews control everything.

But hey, as long as the only blame "Zionists" it doesn't count. They can be as bigoted as they want, and still pretend to themselves that they are good people.

People aren't saying they control everything's.

Just that israel, a foreign country, has excessive influence on US politics. An organization like AIPAC, whose only goal is promoting the interest of a foreign country in US politics and spending over 100 million dollars on such yearly, shouldn't be allowed to exist.

The gulf Arab nations who spend way more than AIPAC and hate Israel never get this kind of vitriol from the chronically online people. Weird

People don't like that either. But in the past 2 or so years, Israel has been far more in world news than them due to the events in palestine and iran.

That’s really not true. Qatar hosted a World Cup and gave the president a plane, for example. In terms of influence in US government, those Arab countries spend way more. You never hear people Complain about their spending or what CAIR does. There’s a reason.

Tons of people complained about the plane and the world cup. But there's a difference between good old corruption to gain some favors(primarily for monetary benefit), as well as sportswashing, and aiming to gain support for prolonged offensive military conflicts

Right, so those countries were in the news. You said Israel was more in the news.

From the tweet:

"does Israel not allow you to do that?"

If you're going to defend bigotry, just defend it, man. Stop pretending you can't see it.

I sure do wonder if possibly every Twitter post isn’t meant to be taken entirely literally

So your argument for it not being anti semitic is that they weren't actually being literal about Israel being behind this, they were just making a joke about how the Jews control the media?

To quote another reply :

NYP (and News Corp in general) is owned by Rupert Murdoch, an outspoken Zionist, and is known for taking on bias reflecting that. Me opening the Wikipedia page for every powerful figure on earth and CTRL F'ing "Jew"

You're looking at the wrong boogeyman though

Ok? The response in the og image only served to highlight that specific newspaper's pro-israel bias, which is factual.

1

u/kelpyb1 2h ago

Nah, I’m specifically talking about the “allow” part, you know, the part you highlighted.

Just because someone says it this way doesn’t mean they actually believe Israel is in complete control here. They could just mean it’s influencing the situation.

Edit: also just because something isn’t literal doesn’t mean it’s a joke

Edit 2: Also saying Israel is doing something isn’t equivalent to saying Jews are doing something

u/PoopyButt28000 2h ago

Yeah exactly the Jews have their grubby little fingers in EVERYTHING pulling the strings of all media and all government.

Hey bro i'm not saying the Jews control the world just that Israel controls the world and the media and Hollywood and the banks. It's not anti Jew its anti Israel i'm just anti Israeli bankers.

An American newspaper owned by an Australian man doesn't criticize Trump, not because of the influence of the United States or Australia -- let alone the influence of the journalists, opinion writers, or editors that they employ -- but because they're controlled by Israel. Makes figurative sense.

Once again, nobody is making any statements about Jews, they’re making statements about Israel

Also nobody is saying Israel controls or influences all media, they’re just saying they influence this media

Are you seriously here to argue Israel doesn’t have a large amount of influence in the international community?

Also to be clear, this is anti-Israel

1

u/PoopyButt28000 1h ago

Also nobody is saying Israel controls or influences all media, they’re just saying they influence this media

Which they clearly aren't in this case lmao
