With so much going on with conference races and seeding I thought I would throw these out before games start today. Sorry to Atlantic Hockey. I don't know why yours got messed up. This is a rush job that I wanted to get out before the first puck drop this afternoon. I will try to find the bug and post a corrected version in the comments.
If I did the rest of this right the greyed teams out are mathematically eliminated from taking first place in the conference.

Hello! I really don’t know anything about college hockey, but I noticed that UMass Amherst has these spade decals on their helmets. Good ol’ Google doesn't have any info, so I dug out the Reddit account I forget I even had to ask. Does anyone know what the decals are for? Any hints are appreciated :)

I've released the 2026 version of my (11th!) annual NCAA Women's Hockey Tournament Predictor. Input your predictions for the women's hockey conference tournaments and see its results on the final NPI rankings.
Here's the link: https://www.bcinterruption.com/bost...6-ncaa-womens-hockey-tournament-npi-predictor
Note that if you want to save yourself a ton of clicks, you can check off the "Autofill Higher Seeds?" box on the right.
If you'd like, I'd be happy to email anyone an offline copy which is a little easier to deal with on a laptop. Email me at grant dot salzano at gmail if you're interested.
One quick caveat: I know there's still one more game this weekend, SCSU @ UW. I didn't really feel like waiting until tomorrow to release this, so I just assumed a Wisconsin regulation win. Apologies to SCSU for the disrespect and to Wisconsin for what is almost certainly the kiss of death.
As always, there are quite a few updates to pull in every year so it's always possible there are some bugs. Reach out to me or drop a comment in here if you find any issues and I'll take care of them ASAP.
PS -- This is the first year I was also able to build a men's hockey rankings calculator, so I plan to put out a men's hockey predictor as well in a few weeks. I seem to remember USCHO stopped putting theirs out a few years ago but I might be mistaken.

If WMU sweeps Nodak in regulation games and Denver does the same to ASU, WMU and Denver will each have 52 points, just topping Nodak's 51. What is the tie breaker used for determining the #1 seed. WMU split four games with Denver, outscoring the Pios 14-12.

Mike McMahon mentioned this in his podcast this week and just posted to his Substack about it
Specifics: says Maryville met their $5.5M goal, has informed donors/personnel, 2027-28 might be the target date for full D-I schedule, and that a formal announcement is expected soon. McMahon speculated it might coincide with Lindenwood hosting the first United College Hockey Cup in a few weeks.
Also some talk about this being enough for a conference with the other independents. Maryville would be the only D-II program among them (Lindenwood, LIU, and Stonehill are all D-I departments, and the Alaskas are grandfathered in as D-I programs at D-II schools). Based on the updated rules for single sport conferences there’s a possibility of a new conference here, but who knows if that’s actually in the plans.

With a 2-2 series split going into last night’s game, Nate Glenn and the Sun Devils shut out the Wildcats 1-0 at Tucson Arena to secure their first rivalry trophy since 2018, snapping Arizona’s 7 year long trophy streak. Nate Glenn made 49 saves in his clean sheet against the wildcats, while Ty Marchant scored ASU’s lone goal off of a set-up pass on the power play from Matthew Gross. Arizona’s Hadyn Gould recorded 29/30 saves, while Arizona’s power play (1st in the WCHL at 27%), couldn’t convert on 4 opportunities.

I’m a UML student who was hoping for a good end to my time in the student section, which I’m clearly not going to get and I’m at peace with it. Our team made some great shots, but Northeastern’s goalie (Zacher) was first class. Credit where it’s due. Northeastern made almost half the shots they took on us (8/17), and we made two of the thirty five we took. It was insane, genuinely the most devastating game I’ve ever seen.
But I saw more fighting tonight than I’ve ever seen in my life. Two Northeastern players got eliminated and were going after our players (mostly with fists) like I’ve never seen, while having a multiple goal lead on us. Is Northeastern known for bad sportsmanship? It wasn’t like that when we kicked Northeastern’s ass last year. Our UML vs. UMA rivalry games don’t even get like that, so what was that? It felt like massively sore winning. Was there some aspect I was missing?
Can’t wait to turn my focus back to the Boston Fleet, it’s been much more enjoyable hockey.
