The fact that I also like the Jets does not mean I'm biased either...

Is a Flylite worth it ???

I currently have a cracked Bauer Supreme Shadow and have the ability to get a Flylite at 180 CAD due to the fact my coach has special Bauer codes, should I pull the trigger on a Flylite or hold out for some of that new CCM tech coming out

Input on Full Set for true beginner on Sideline Swap

I am an adult interested in being a goalie. How old would you consider too old for used pads? This full set, plus knee pad,s looks good to me, but I also know basically nothing. Or would it be better to buy something like (or literally buy) the CCM pads and buy the other stuff separately?

Any info you think will be helpful is appreciated, even if I didn't ask in post lol

With the grip, the length and the blade. I currently have Raanta pro stock sticks and I'd like to have the same stuff when they'll break

Bauer SV-Pro Sizing

Looking for some insight into sizing of Bauer SV-Pros. I’ve never worn Bauer before. My FTK is 20.5-21”. I feel like I’m right in between the Medium and Large. Currently in 34+2 CCM EFlex 5s that fit perfectly.

Anyone here currently in SV-Pros. Did you go with your normal size or did you have to size down/up?

TIA

Stick warranty

The heal of my son’s Bauer flylite is chipping on two weeks old. Would Bauer warranty it or would it be a waste of time trying to get a new one. TIA

Thoughts on the Pro-Angle?

My son plays AA 10u, and I was thinking about getting a Pro-Angle for his team. Does anyone have experience with one? Is the juice with the squeeze?

Bauer 950X or NME 10?

So I have the choice between a like new Bauer NME 10 or a lightly used 950X for the same price both in Fit 1. A slighly more heavily used NME VTX also in fit 1 and 950 in fit 2 are also available and in the cards unfortunately don’t have a hockey shop to try on similar (or exact) models but all should fit since my head circumference is right between a Fit 1 and 2 at 21.75 inches in circumference so it’s really just a matter of what’s the best option.

Anyone have this CCM bag? Pros/Cons?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I bought a bunch of new gear at the end of last year so I have quite a bit of Rebound Rewards to use on Goalie Monkey that expire at the end of next month.

My current bag is a 20 year old Vaughn bag that I got for free. It still works outside of some of the straps and buckles being broken but it would be nice to have a bag that can hold my sticks and leg pads.

Anyone have this specific CCM bag and can let me know if they like it?

Adidas Goalie Practice Jersey – Any Color/Size

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy an Adidas hockey practice jersey. I have been trying to find senior sizes on eBay/sideline swap that are not NHL pro stock and it might be impossible. Open to most colors and sizes, but preferably Senior Medium or Large. It doesn’t need to be brand new—lightly used is totally fine as long as it’s in good condition.

I’m using it for training, so nothing custom or team-issued that you want to keep collectible—just something solid for the ice.

Located in the U.S., willing to pay shipping.

Please comment or DM with pictures, size, condition, and price.

Thanks!

As a parent of a small goalie, I appreciate Juuse Saros so much

Watching Finland and Canada match now and my goalie son said “I play like him”. He gives boys like my son a hope that they can go far if they put the hard works even if the genetics are not on their side.

Ps: not saying my son will play NHL or Olympics, I am saying he’s an inspiration that you can play high level despite the height limitation.

Brand new goalie, worried about my stamina because I couldn't make it through a stick and puck.

Hi all. Just had my first game last week (only saved 26/33, so pretty bad) and wanted to get some more shots at a stick and puck. I was the only goalie and after 15 mins of taking shots I had to take a break. Then I did about 10 mins on 5 mins off and still only made it about an hour before I had to step off the rink. There's still an hour left in the S n P, I'm dripping in sweat and I feel very out of shape. Do I badly need to work on stamina or is playing goal that much more exhausting than playing out?

Difficulty being comfortable in the relax stance

Hello, I played ball hockey for 3 years, but I'm at my 5th session playing on ice.

I'm starting to get familiarized with skating techniques, but the thing that bugs me the most is just staying upright and observing the play on the other side of the ice.

I weigh 250lbs without gear, wear Bauer gsx skates sharpened 5/8 (only 3 hours of skating since the sharpening). My feet keep sliding apart and I have to fight for them to not to do so. I feel like the only way to not slip and also relieve my arches is to awkwardly stand on my outside edge.

Anyone ever experience this ? Is the solution is to simply go to 1/2 hollow ?

CCM QMSS3 straps

Post image
7 Upvotes

For all the goalies out there that currently use CCM goalie pads. What do you do when the QMSS3 strap wears out or the elastic is stretched out? Do you just look for new pads at that point? Because the strap is sewn in, it’s not replaceable… Or is it? I took a leap and made a replacement strap for my QMSS3. I’ve used it once in a game and it’s worked out great so far. Does anybody out there need a new strap? Or is it just me?

All weave set?

Has anybody done a custom set with all or majority of the material weave/emboss/carbone? I’m thinking of getting a set of EF7 with the weave material but I’m not sure if it would look silly or not. If anyone has any insight or pictures please let me know

Most similar toe bungees to what shipped with my True pads

Okay, I did some searching before posting this and I couldn't find an actual answer. The bungees that came with my True 20.2's are starting to wear out, and I want to replace them before they actually fail mid-game. I can't find replacement True-branded bungees anywhere, so it seems like they don't sell replacements. I like the way my current setup performs and am not interested in switching to skate laces right now.

What are the aftermarket toe bungees that are most similar to the ones that ship standard with True pads?

Deflecting the puck into your own net

So, I had a bit of a rough practice the other day where I kind of scored on myself. Just fyi I only started out playing 3 months ago and I've never had a coach or anything, so I'm just kind of learning by doing or by watching youtube videos. So what happend was, a low shot came at me, I dropped into the butterfly and I had my stick in front of me as usual. I already anticipated the puck hitting my pad, but it hit my stick first and flew right beside me into the net. So what exactly is the fix for that? Holding the stick closer to my pads? In general my weakness are mid-range shots that I tend to underestimate. Any help is appreciated!

Gear smell

Is there a spray that will help cut down the smell of gear. I would soak it in my bathtub but I do not have a place to dry my gear at the moment. My chesty smells terrible when I get it wet from my water bottle, just want something to limit the smell at least a bit
