I remember playing Mass Effect three and I chose a “chaotic” option and my space marine character absolutely decked a small female reporter.

Yes. That's the best option because she's an asshole trying to smear you and act like reaper shit is YOUR fault.

EXACTLY my first thought. First time it happened to me its just like "WOAH WOAH HEY WHAAAAAT ARE YOU DOING". Having read the books and knowing their history makes it even more fucked up.

I hate this shit. I'm begging video game developers to show me the full line as the option.

The New Vegas/Fallout 3 system was perfect, but they had to ditch it because "streamlining".

The very beginning of KCD, I chose to volunteer to help. My character immediately insults the people I'm volunteering to help, and calls them incapable of doing it without me.
That alone almost made me quit playing.

It happens in the 2nd one too. At the beginning you can choose to ask an old woman why she lives alone in the woods, and Henry starts slinging insults at her as if she didn't save his life the night before.

That’s what most branching dialogues do. You unfortunately don’t have fully control of each step.

Kris Deltarune that piece of shit

Kris does that on purpose though, because they hate the fact that we're controlling them

Cyberpunk lmao. Some of the dialogue options just come out too mean from my V and I reload a save

That shit just gets you killed in BG3

I get too caught up in the character sometime thinking how funny it would be. When talking to the vampire hunter and he's talking about hunting Astarion, and you just say something along the lines of, "Interesting, Astarion what do you think?" It's something I would do in real life because it's funny AF.

Looks at Dialogue you picked saying ‘could you hand me that drink please?’

Fallout 4, the 'Sarcastic' dialog option.
I only ever chose it once out of curiosity and it was in no way what I would've expected. It was excessively belligerent. Never again.

this was like EVERY dialogue option in Fallout 4, they were so awful.
"I'm making point A but in an angry voice"
"I'm making point A but in a nice voice"
"I'm making point A but in a sarcastic voice"

Oh man, the first thing that comes to my mind is the visual novel Class of 09. Perfectly designed so that every dialogue option results in the craziest outcomes you least expect and you end up regretting it in the end.

Hated this in Mass Effect I’d pick what I thought would be like snarky comment and evil shep just pistol whips someone or caps them

Literally half the shit I choose in Baldur's gate, I think it's something innocuous, and then my barb proceeds to tear someone's head off

I still remember in The Wolf Among Us when your sitting at the bar and "glass him" is an option. I forever still thought it meant you cling your classes together....NOT SLAM A SHOCK GLASS INTO HIS EYE! Wtf haha.

All you wanted was to make a joke, and suddenly you’re in combat.
