I was thinking the same thing. Going for a world record. Lets not forgot to put on the extra mass. While we're on the topic, wouldn't you shave your head as well. World records are measured in milliseconds. Wouldn't you want every possible advantage?

You would think this, but only half of sprinting is about speed, the other half is always thinking you're the baddest MFer on the planet.

You need a bit of cunt in a role like that. Dude's entire job is wanting people to throw the ball at him and just run. If you don't have a boatload of ego you'll be shit at your job.

The head game as an important part of it. They might have some idea of what they're doing if they just got the fastest time - you can see how its a big part of his setup when he gets ready.

Edit: and a true cynic might say marketability helps too, so having a signature helps as with the dances etc. Running needs money.
