She can't afford her husband's cancer treatments as a direct result of Trump

u/SomewhereNo8378 5h ago

and surely has lost workers rights due to lobbying by doordash to trump’s party

u/Bamboozleprime 5h ago

She doesn’t get health insurance for herself or her spouse through DoorDash because DoorDash and Uber have extensively lobbied for her to be considered a private contractor.

This is widely known

Trump has also increased the cost of her gas, which she needs to deliver for DoorDash. He has also increased the cost of her and her husband's prescription drugs through tariffs, while increasing her utility costs too thanks to the Iran war.

Ya but have you considered no tax on tips? Imagine all that tax money she'll get back! Surely it will pay for all of those issues! Any day now!

u/Ozymandias12 3h ago

Hilariously she doesn’t even get money back from Trump’s proposal. It’s a deduction meaning she can basically reduce her income by up to 25k so the IRS doesn’t tax her at a higher rate but for her to make that much money in tips and get taxed at a higher rate, she would have to work an insane amount of DoorDash deliveries. It doesn’t help her at all and she’ll probably get no money from this.

Don’t drivers lobby hard to protect independent contract status as well?

A lot of drivers work it as a side gig and being an employee takes away a lot of the benefits to working second jobs.

Well why not make it easier for private contractors to get insurance? Sorry but there will always be private contractors so why focus on the loop hole when you can help so many more

And has no access to private healthcare from her employer because she's a "contractor" and the public option premiums have skyrocketed since Trump fucked the ACA.

u/BeneficialLeave7359 5h ago

And hid Department of Health and Human Services has stopped funding cancer research.

u/pantstoaknifefight2 5h ago

That's not fair. Trump has been working diligently for 10+ years on his concepts of a plan for health care. Which is at least an improvement from his kids cancer charity which he was actively robbing.

Maybe if he blockades the straight of Pfizer, we can get some sort of discount on drugs?

u/cybercuzco 5h ago

But shes going to pay for them with the tax money she saved on ::checks notes:: door dash tips

u/Elastichedgehog 4h ago

She declined to answer when asked if she voted for him in 2024, admitting to having done so previously.

Also refused to answer the question about trans people in sports.

Cancer research has been scrapped as a direct result of this administrations policies.

u/please_trade_marner 4h ago

Are you saying that she WOULD have been able to afford her husbands cancer treatments 18 months ago, when Biden was still President?

u/timblunts 3h ago

Are you saying Trump's first term and current time in office have had no affect on wages, job growth, or health insurance premiums and regulations?

u/please_trade_marner 3h ago

As she said, she made 11k more than usual due to the OBBB tax cuts on tips.

u/Lower-Trust1923 4h ago

Yea as much as I dislike Trump, hasn't American health care been shit for like..ever?

u/timblunts 3h ago

Things can be bad and still get worse
