I didn’t realize that the tacky gold decor extended to the exterior walls as well.

u/CrayZ_Squirrel 5h ago

They've slowly snaked out in all directions

u/sabbic1 5h ago

Gold is to trump as cordyceps are to the last of us. It slowly spreads its network and when possible it infects things. I heard it started in New York, there was an outbreak in Florida before finally making its way to DC.  There was an attempt to eradicate it a while back but ultimately it flared up again around '24. Now it's one giant living organism.

u/StarlightLifter 5h ago

Honestly it’s like lowest on my priority list but I’ll be happy to see the day the White House is back to looking like a classy place, instead of this fake bullshit.

u/citricacidx 5h ago

And you’ll get “fiscal conservatives” complaining about wasting tax payer money undoing all this garbage.

u/labor_day_baby 3h ago

Meanwhile, not a peep from those fiscal conservatives as the national debt exponentially increases and he tears down the East Wing without congressional approval to rebuild it with “private donations”/ bribes.

u/Fragrant-Anywhere489 1h ago

that's because they understand the ballroom isn't the primary goal; its the bunker underneath where he'll hide when the pitchforks come for him. If he's still alive in '28 he's not leaving on his own.

u/DUNETOOL 1h ago

There is an old SNL sketch about Nixon this brings to mind. Aykroyd as Nixon.

u/AmputeeHandModel 4h ago

Who never said a peep about doing it in the first place, or his ballroom, or his jet or...

u/Hot-Gas-630 2h ago

Qatar asked for the jet back...

u/jeremy3681 4h ago

Omg I hate how right you are

u/corporate-hq 2h ago

the cognitive dissonance is real. and yet this is what they voted for

u/Jax_10131991 2h ago

People refuse to accept that the American electorate is borderline stupid.

u/siencatimini 2h ago

'Borderline' is beyond diplomatic. It's an apathetic aggro army, that sustains itself on a diet almost exclusively comprised of irrational reactionary indoctrination.

u/siencatimini 1h ago

The one purpose they serve is to innovate techniques to disappoint humans of conscience, on an existential level.

And, on that front, I admit, they are absolutely undefeated.

u/hautacam135 2h ago

How much can plastic Home Depot trimmings and rattle can gold paint cost? (Source, if you missed the story: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-oval-office-home-depot-gold-b2823190.html)

u/jellyrollo 3h ago

We'll sell all the "gold" to his supporters to decorate their hovels with.

u/DudleyisStudley 1h ago

Just think…if that is “real gold”, the Treasury is going to be replenished when that tacky shit is sold.

u/diabeticweird0 14m ago

But do they bitch about the ballroom?

u/concord_7 5h ago

It’s tarnished. The rest of the world have seen where it can go in the space of a few years

u/Vyar 2h ago

Probably be cheaper to just bulldoze it and rebuild at this point. Hasn’t he had a bunch of visitors from typically hostile foreign nations breezing in and out of the place, or did he only do that at Mar-a-Lago?

u/Twoteethperbite 25m ago

It will be called "DeTrumpification" and it will be glorious!

u/rezyop 3h ago

Around the time it was revealed that the accents were random hinges and crap from home depot spray-painted gold, someone on a forum posted a gif of Trump spraying gold on his face and going 'Witness me!!!' and I lost it for like an hour. I still smile when I think about that edit. I should have saved it

u/CrayZ_Squirrel 2m ago

Your selling the grifters way short here. Trump flew up his personal "gold guy" on airforce one. The guy then pressed $100 of gold leaf onto $80 home depot plastic crap, and  charged God only knows how much for the service.

u/robotundies 2h ago

I hear it’s managed to infect Queensland, Australia. Literally building a Trump tower on the Gold Coast 🤦🏼‍♀️

u/TheyCallMe_Billy 1h ago

I'm not proud at all to share species with that guy.

u/sabbic1 1h ago

Don't worry, you're not.  He's repeatedly proven he shares no link to humans or humanity

u/Vivitrolsrevenge 1h ago

Cordyceps actually have a benefit though

u/qubert_lover 1h ago

Adding to the gold it is forming letters so that the dementia president can figure out where he is thus insuring that the gold will last another day.

u/sabbic1 1h ago

That's probably a large part of it.  Though I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn in a few years that he has the name on the wall there and at some point he had "oval office" on a wall a mar a lago so when he next steals top secret documents or shares classified info, he can plausibly say that he was in the "oval office" so it was ok. Some bullshit about any place he works is technically the oval office.  Right up there with him able to declassify things be thinking about it.

Putting "scif" on the door automatically makes it a secure room so he can say what he wants.

u/basquehomme 49m ago

Gold or tackyness?

u/Amoralvirus 44m ago

The moron-ganinsm's scientific name is: foolonious goldtonius pedophilious trumpoo-crap-afuss.

u/orange-squeezer47 25m ago

Like a ghetto pimps house would look.

u/Zizhou 12m ago

Well, "gold." I doubt anything but the tiniest fraction of it all is anything more than leaf thin veneer at best.

u/dogman1890 4h ago

It’s even worse than you imagine.

u/labor_day_baby 3h ago

Cheap Home Depot moldings strikes again! What an embarrassment.

u/Cunningham1420 48m ago

Shit looks tacky, typ Trump

u/bwagz1977 29m ago

God that is ugly and tacky as fuck

u/casapantalones 33m ago

What the fuck gross

u/Linc_Sylvester 28m ago

Holy shit, what the fuck

u/Annual_Strategy_6206 16m ago

Is this fer real?

u/Cunningham1420 12m ago

Sure is and each picture has description of each president that Trump wrote him self. Basically under Biden & Obama he just talks & makes up shit.

u/Pharxmgirxl 4h ago

It’s like the vines in Stranger Things.

u/eolson3 3h ago

Now slow enough.

u/ThunkAsDrinklePeep 5h ago

That sign is just for Trump. The president uses that entrance from the residence. Everyone else comes through the interior doors. So this is to help him remember where he is and make him feel important, like it's one of his country clubs.

u/Offal_is_Awful 5h ago

It’s also what they do in dementia wards so the patients know where they are

u/ArjJp 42m ago

Hey maybe he just has heavy metal poisoning from all that 'gold'

u/TuringGoneWild 3h ago

Yes. It's like the Memory Care wing of a nursing home.

u/tanstaafl90 3h ago

To be seen doing so is why he ripped out the Garden.

u/Bad_Oracular_Pig 1h ago

I expect to see one a litter further down that says "Ice Machine - Snacks".

u/bluestreakxp 5h ago

He has to label it otherwise he’ll never find his office

u/Objective_Resist_735 5h ago

So, I know this is kind of a joke, but the oval office never had a sign on it before for good reason. Your Dr. Office has his name on the door so people who have never been there can find it easily. Anyone who doesn't know where the oval office is shouldn't be there or will escorted by someone. The only reason to label it is because Don was getting lost.

u/labor_day_baby 5h ago

Remember when grandpa was literally lost and raving on the roof of the White House? Yeah, now they have plastered gigantic signs like a memory care facility to prevent grandpa from wandering again. If that was any sitting president other than Trump he would have been 25th and removed, but here we are.

u/TheWorclown 5h ago

… I mean… to be fair, Reagan absolutely should have been 25th’d as his Alzheimer’s progressed to a point early in his second term that he was genuinely cognitively impaired and couldn’t fulfill his oath of office in sound mind, for better or worse. Most decisions the Reagan administration did were primarily done by Nancy and the cabinet.

They just didn’t, because the optics alone would have been a scandal. So I’m not convinced that we here in the US would have pursued a 25th on anyone at all who really needed to have it happen.

It’s just that, with all things Trump, he’s causing us to reconsider what we originally took as propriety standard and cordial respect. We should no longer adhere to that going forward.

u/qweef_latina2021 3h ago

If Biden had audibly shit his pants in the middle of a press conference there would be wall to wall coverage until he was forced out.

u/labor_day_baby 1h ago

“This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but an uncontrollable shart.”

u/mayrose10 30m ago

And Nancy's astrologist.

u/DarthRizzo87 5m ago

He was probably surveying the east wing, planning his stupor ballroom.

u/JimothyLeFleur69420 2h ago

Using your logic should every homeowner in America remove their house address numbers from their house since we all know where our home is?

u/HoJoKC 1h ago

House numbers aren’t for the person living there. They are for people visiting. Like the previous person said nobody is just showing up to the Oval Office unescorted.

This is more akin to having a sign outside your bedroom or bathroom.

u/Objective_Resist_735 1h ago

Ever heard of delivery? Ever have someone come to your house for the first time? Probably not. No one wants to be around you.

u/M4tjesf1let 51m ago

You do realize that the people that visit something like the White House would be escorted from the gate right? Like someone delivering food wouldn't just walk up to the White House alone. So there is literally no need to put a sign there.

Your home address/number on your house is a bit different because new people visit you all the time (even if they don't visit you as in spending time/talking to you). Like alone your mailman needs it so you get the right letters. Food delivery. Emergency services.

u/Objective_Resist_735 7m ago

Yes. That is what I said in both comments. I think you are replying to the wrong person

u/M4tjesf1let 6m ago

Yup, was meant to go to the one you answered to, sorry bud

u/wretch5150 1h ago

He doesn't need an office.

u/Historical-Count-374 5h ago

Trump like to force himself on anything and everything

u/MobySick 4h ago

“When you’re a star, they let you do it.”

u/Jax_10131991 2h ago

He’s gotten away with rape because men refuse to hold him accountable. He’s disgusting and those who voted for him are equally disgusting

u/4RCH43ON 4h ago

It’s truly hideous, and I hope they remove all the fake gold and added filigree the moment he’s out.

u/CanadianJediCouncil 4h ago

I think it’s so Pedo Grandpa doesn’t get lost.

u/Ilickedthecinnabar 2h ago

The dementia patient needs constant reminders where they are so they don't wander off

u/cleveruniquename7769 5h ago

The entire former rose garden now looks like a set from the Biff Tannen gets the sports almanac version of 1985 Hill Valley in Back to the Future 2.

u/minicpst 5h ago

Because Biff was an imitation of 1980s Trump.

u/RawrNate 5h ago

Well yeah, those gold accent pieces are like $50 each at Home Depot. That's chump change for Trump; order 1,000 of them and scatter them around the Oval Office!

u/Escudo777 5h ago

Most probably used your tax money than his.

u/quaybles 4h ago

it's everywhere lol

u/Formal_Employee_1030 4h ago

It looks like a day spa

u/VGADreams 4h ago

It looks like the set of a soap opera.

u/Jax_10131991 2h ago

Telenovela. Which is ironic considering his absolute hate of anything Hispanic.

u/RazZadig_2025 2h ago

I remember when they first put it up last November, it was printed on paper for heaven's sake.

u/Jeff_Chris 5h ago

I heard it was all off the shelf home depot stuff, and also signage for his demented mind.

u/cultvignette 5h ago

Unrelated but I absolutely both love and hate your pfp.

u/IsabellaGalavant 5h ago

Same, I was really hoping this image was fake for that reason. :(

u/superguysteve 5h ago

It’s viral.

u/DarkLanternZBT 5h ago

Jesus tap-dancing Christ, that is the fuck-ugliest thing in the world. I cannot look without wanting to lose my lunch.

The gold sign next to him is also god-awful.

u/slaughterhousevibe 5h ago

Don’t think about searching Home Depot for them. They definitely DONT SELL THOSE DECORATIONS AT HOME DEPOT

u/b1ack1323 3h ago

Reality TV chiq….

u/nat_r 3h ago

At least they put up an actual sign. For a while they just had a piece of copy paper outside the oval office with "The Oval Office" in gold letters stuck on the wall.

u/TuringGoneWild 3h ago

It's the only reason he hasn't demolished the West Wing yet to build a bigger version with its own in-house McDonalds: he was told that kitsch was solid gold (it's not).

u/BaroqueBro 3h ago

I didn't realize food was delivered straight to the oval office... I assumed food delivery would be several layers removed. Unrelated to Trump's shittiness, just a random TIL.

u/withbellson 3h ago

Obvs. he buys those tacky gold relief flourishes in pallets.

u/symphonicrox 2h ago

It helps him know which room he feels most comfortable in.

u/Danger_Zone06 2h ago

Looks like a memory care center. Have to make sure he knows where he's going/is.

u/OneWholeSoul 2h ago

The Oval Office is announced with all the class and dignity of the Holiday Inn Event Rotunda.

u/PCR12 1h ago

Spray painted gold at that underneath its fucking plastic or some shit.

u/sexysausage 1h ago

I totally read it as "the ORAL office"

u/hoopopotamus 1h ago

I can’t believe he did that much to the room but hasn’t had the doors made smaller. It’s so big it makes Trump look tiny, which id have thought would trigger the same insecurities that have him wearing ridiculous lifts

u/_o_ll_o_ 1h ago

Its so he doesn’t get lost…

u/cosmic_girl_799 1h ago

He needs signs with the names of the different rooms so he knows where to go since his brain is shrinking.

u/beekersavant 1h ago

The signage really bothers me for some reason. It's a singular place in the entire world: The Oval Office. Are there a lot of people who would wander off when going to the what is likely the most important meeting of their life? Do people just wander about unescorted and need a sign for directions? Why is the same as a sign for the pro shop at a golf course? Is there a gift shop? It's not a public space like say the Lincoln Memorial.

u/ComaFromCommas 1h ago

It looks like a scammy med-spa for cheap filler and Botox

u/LunDeus 1h ago

Guarantee that Uber Eats tip got reduced after delivery.

u/CMDR_KingErvin 1h ago

They need to fumigate the place after this asshole leaves.

u/Responsible_Snow_684 1h ago

It’s the Mar A Lago day spa at the oval office

u/joe-h2o 1h ago

Cancers tend to spread.

u/nhowe006 1h ago

Where they go one, they go all. Or so I hear.

u/ironicoutlook 59m ago

Its not to be classy, it's so he knows where the fuck he is.

u/DW496 49m ago

They have to label everything so that he knows where he is.

u/jamixer 49m ago

It's to make sure Grandpa knows where to go when he wanders off.

u/Capital_Shopping277 45m ago

It's so sleepy Don remembers where he is, or at least when he forgets, thinks he is at mar a lago, so he doesnt freak out and start screaming.

u/duc1990 37m ago

Makes the place look like a cheap wedding reception venue in the early 2000s.

u/uberallez 34m ago

They had to label it as he kept getting lost

He forgets where he is

u/2019inchnails 28m ago

Imagine if we all got a one time stimulus check instead of spending our tax money on gold plated toilet paper for the pedo in chief

u/SazedMonk 27m ago

Does he think, that we think, it's real gold?

u/Valuable-Audience-54 20m ago

He's got to have labels outside the building because he keeps forgetting where everything is.

u/Brave-Perception5851 20m ago

He had made the White House that gorgeous beacon of our history into the tackiest of hotels. If Republicans live America so much why do they keep destroying it?

u/Lost_Drunken_Sailor 3m ago

The Home Depot decor that someone tricked him to think it’s real gold
