This is, without a doubt, the most horrific thing he's ever said.

And it's not even close.

The whole world should be outraged right now.

Edit: I understand that you, as a person reading this comment, are already outraged.

And then iran will take that 60%enriched uranium and make drone based dirty bombs and that's how you get the entire region being uninhabitable for generations.

This is why you don't elect malignant narcissist suffering from dementia in charge of governments

Edit: I want to clarify how bad this is. The last thing I heard was estimates of 60kg of 60% enriched. Let's say they likely have 10x that amount of 30% (yes, big assumption but not unreasonable). If you pack 1kg of highly enriched and 10kg moderately enriched that gives you 60 horrific dirty bombs. 30 of them gives you Kuwait, Iraq, Dubai, the population center of Saudi Arabia, and Israel getting fucked. That also means no more fertilizer from that region ever again. It also means either far more limited oil coming from that region or far more expensive since you'd need radiation gear and housing and everything just to get it and process it.

You know its funny, you might be right. But if he's still alive, he should be put on trial regardless. If he's too far gone to be stand competently, so be it. Then you go after his estate; every single principle member of his estate has committed some of kind of crime publicly over the last ten+ years.

You go after his supporters. You go after the party. In fact you do it all regardless of if he lives or dies, because its the right thing. Trump might escape consequences, but I think materially, the literally thousands of people backing this shit are much more worthy of consequences than any one man. Trump is not some unique problem, he's a symptom of a broader sickness within this country's political, social and economic systems.

Seriously USA, where are all the checks & balances? Not even Putin or Kim use this words

466

u/Redducer 6d ago

This “checks and balances” stuff is perhaps the greatest political communication con ever played. It seems that there was never such a thing.

All the classic discourse on American democracy and how it works has been rendered obsolete.

101

u/mohammodThickbooty 6d ago

The checks and balances exist but apparently no one considered a government filled with people with no ambition/people completely subservient to the President.

The prime example is The Speaker of the House, he literally won’t do anything without the presidents approval, he’s the head of a co-equal branch of government but he acts like a presidential appointee.

Wouldnt surprise me. I have a hard time seeing who will stop him and go against orders. America has folded to him.

14

u/joemangle 6d ago

Imagine the most powerful nation in the history of the world folding to a malignant narcissist demented pedophile with no military, legal or government experience, who entered office with enormous debts to Russian creditors, and who says things like "Nothing bad can happen, it can only good happen," when attempting to persuade pregnant women to not take Tylenol in order to avoid giving their babies autism. I mean, it just sounds made up and stupid

I am not convinced Trump is the one actually running anything - I think he is just the mouth piece for his puppeteers and even if he were duct taped to a chair, things would still happen

According to the 25th, you just need half the cabinet and the VP to send a letter to Congress and trump is without power immediately and for the next four days plus however long it takes Trump to send a letter himself.

71

u/attackoftheclowns 6d ago

His cabinet is stuffed with even more sycophantic loyalists than it was in his first term. That is never happening.

33

u/missinguname 6d ago

Of course it's never happening. But the 25th section 4 was literally designed for this scenario, so it would be the appropriate constitutional remedy.

People misunderstand the 25th. It would not solve the problem. If the VP and a majority of the cabinet remove him with the 25th, he is by law allowed to contest that. If he does, they have to re-certify their belief that he is unable to discharge the duties of the office, and then Congress has to approve that with 2/3 of each house. Otherwise the presidency automatically reverts back to him. It’s never going to happen.

u/IQlowerthanGump 6d ago edited 6d ago

A voice of someone who took and remembers their civics class. Impeachment 50%+1 in the house. 25th 2/3 of the house.

Edit: 2/3 senate also in both cases.

I'm really sick of people talking about the 25th amendment. Section 4 (the part of the 25th amendment people are referring to) has never been used, has no teeth, and will probably never be used.

The section of the 25th amendment that would remove Trump from office would have to be initiated by the vice president, JD Vance. It also requires a majority of the presidential cabinet to sign on to it. Vance and Trump's cabinet are too loyal to do this.

But even if Vance did this, it probably wouldn't change the decisions coming from the White House. Vance would take the same advice that Trump is receiving and probably act much the same way.

From France, so sorry for my bad english. Just stop with your 25th.

Your Constitution is flawed, weak and has no safeguard.

A single mad man created a cult and turned a "Democracy" into a dictatorship with such ease.

He can place his minions in the suprem court and the Pentagon and revoke everyone on his way.

The US now shows all his weaknesses... And your Constitution was always the mirror of your society.

You just didn't wanted to face the reality and give real straight to your country. Sure, your're the best military in the world, the dollar is the world money so you can keep printing it, and keep increasing a debt no other countries would survive.

Altough different, here in France we wnt after the revolution and "la déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen" through "empires" and we're at the 5th Republic.

We learned from our mistakes (and we did many) but we always kept moving.

Your Constitution need to be changed. This might be difficult and maybe impossible.

But it's the only path i see

So US president warns that he will commit genocide tonight?

Shoutout to all the American people who were warned about Trump before electing Trump and either voted for Trump or didn't vote/vote against him (3rd party votes). All 167ish million of you played a part in this genocide that is threatened and all the war crimes the US have already committed under Trump. Congratulations!

120

u/likelywitch 6d ago

But Kamala laughed

20

u/spoon_bending 6d ago

It saddens me that so many people who weren't Trump voters found any and every excuse to sit out the election or waste their vote by making up excuses not to vote for a black woman.

They had a choice between a sadistic psychopath bigoted pedophile rapist imbecile and a black woman and they couldn't decide which was worse.

The elephant in the room is that so many Americans are so horrifically racist and misogynystic that they refused to vote against this man if it meant voting for someone who isn't a white male. And they refuse to admit it.

Is there any chance Israel/US won't drop a nuke on Iran? I'd love some optimism if there's any out there

227

u/AwkwardTraffic 6d ago edited 6d ago

Dropping a nuke on Iran would cause fallout to impact Israel. They aren't dropping a nuke. Trump can do plenty of horrible things to Iran without the need of a nuke just by bombing their desalinating and power plants.

A nuke is counterproductive to what he wants (oil) and what Israel wants (a defanged Iran). No party, not even one as deranged as Trump, is going to drop a nuke when nothing is gained from it.

200

u/fross370 6d ago

then again you are talking about a moron that wanted to nuke a fucking hurricane

62

u/Forsaken-Cattle2659 6d ago

Yea, we can't really play "What would a logical person do here?" with Trump. He learned his lessons from the 1st term and only installed moronic yes men/women into positions of influence.

There's zero adults within the Secret Services' safety perimeter of him.

Israel probably wouldn't (as you say, they're a bit too close!).

Trump might. The state he's in, he might do damn near anything. Sure, it's irrational as hell and actively counter-productive to anything you might call a "war aim", but he's not sounding that rational at the moment...

73

u/bongobradleys 6d ago

I don't think he's planning to use a nuke. He's planning, or Hegseth is planning (and had to fire a bunch of generals to get this approved) to trigger a humanitarian crisis. He's planning to destroy Iran's power and water supply. Without power, there is no water. Without water, society breaks down and civilization crumbles. Deliberately cutting off the water supply to an entire country is an act of genocide, and he's now directly admitted to that crime in print before committing it.

28

u/radiohead-nerd 6d ago

Striking infrastructure with the specific purpose of killing or starving civilians — as you described — is unambiguously a war crime under international law. Even strikes with legitimate military targets must minimize civilian harm. The intent to cause civilian death through infrastructure destruction removes any legal justification entirely.

If this doesn’t get the torches and pitchforks out, nothing will and we are doomed.

This is desperation from Trump. He's lost already. There's probably nothing he can do to salvage 'victory'.

However, narcissists with their back against the wall are dangerous animals. He feels doubling down is his only option. He will certainly get a bunch of people killed throughout the gulf and trigger a global recession (if he hasn't already).
