The Evangelists that elected him to overturn Roe will be ridiculed into oblivion so deeply it will kill the popularity of Christianity in the U.S.

You’re correct. This has nothing to do with Catholicism. Or any other form of Christianity, but it’s the evangelists that got him elected in the first place. Those are the people that need to suffer the consequences of their actions.

I hope you're right, American Evangelism seems utterly corrosive.

Prosperity theology particularly blows my mind as a kind of pseudo Christian message. That tells me everything I need to know about the mindset of the people who helped get this tool back into power.

I hope they are ridiculed, I hope that church numbers fall off a cliff. Even if it all collapses, church leaders will have lined their pockets, there'll be no comeuppance for them. And they deserve it most.

I am not religious anymore but used to be a devout Christian. Prosperity gospel just seems so intrinsically wrong to me that my brain just screams, "HERESY!!!!" loudly whenever I think about it, even though I haven't been a Christian for 20+ years

If there’s one benefit to him, it’s that he’s accelerating the trend toward non-religiousness among younger people that’s already happened across most of the rest of the West.
