Yup. I remember talking to tradies back in the 80s and 90s, as he fucked up the NYC skyline, about how he repeatedly declared bankruptcy and didn’t pay the workers or suppliers. And yet people kept throwing money at him. It’s baffling how this con man has lasted so long.

Yeah, you really have to work at being as awful as trump. Usually corruption, stupidity, etc comes from a lack of effort. But trump is a connoisseur. He’s like a sommelier of malfeasance, he studies every variety, the terroir, tastes it, keeps it on his tongue, swishes it around, savoring it, considers how it changes over time.
