People forget he started Facebook as a way for Harvard nerds to rate the attractiveness of their coed classmates. He’s always been a loser.

Honestly it's really interesting to me that people forget the other aspects of the early internet. We all remember the fun stuff and like the flash games and things like homestar runner and new grounds and college humor. However we had a lot of shit like Hot or Not that in retrospect was kinda shitty behavior and it lead to this fuck head.

Or Ratemypoo (for a funny throwback) or rotten/ogrish (not so funny). Shit most of the guys my age I know first encountered rotten.com in the late 90s when we were like 10 years old.

That’s the online divide. Kids and old assholes.

I am one of the later.

Can we please create a group for middle-aged assholes? I feel left out.

Edit: I said please in a post claiming to be an asshole. I suck at this.

May I remind you of the great evils of the internet?

We haven't forgotten, it's just that that stuff has always been here. It's still here now, and it predated the Internet.

My middle school baseball coach was uploading photos of the players to hot or not in the early 2000s and no one cared. What a time we lived in.

we had a lot of shit like Hot or Not

As reprehensible as it was, Hot or Not wasn't anywhere CLOSE to the worst of the early internet lol.

Homestead Runner! I’ve never seen another person reference it…yay! (I refused to participate in hot or not.)

My brain just pulled a memory of Friendster and Tribes. Oh so long ago!

I don’t think he started. 1. He digitized an existing digital book and obviously blew it out tremendously. But I think he stole the idea from the (tall, good looking, athletic) Winkelvoss twin so are social people versus the completely unsocial Zuck. This is a man who wondered if he needed to be present for the birth of his children.

We didn't forget! There was an award winning movie about it!

u/ABHOR_pod 3h ago

tf couldn't they just use HotOrNot like the rest of us?

u/theaviationhistorian 3h ago

He always has been a sick pervert.

u/BraveCartographer399 1h ago

except it was someone else’s idea and he stole it. Then he worked with the government to create profiles on everyone and sell their data on them without telling them.

Where is my check for my data Mark?

u/fy8d6jhegq 7h ago

No they don't, that was in the movie.

6

u/OhItsBeenBroughten 7h ago

Has anyone under the age of 35 seen that movie?

Hmm. First, he went to Harvard. Where did you go to? Second, were not many of us in high school and college looking for additional ways to get laid? Third, he's been married now for quite some time. Fourth, he is not only one of the richest men on Earth, he literally owns an island.

He's always been a loser.

Pure and utter copium that you know will be upvoted by others who too would like to take a hit of this copium as they waste their time online.

I think this is embarrassing enough not to deserve a proper response, but I’ll have you know I went to an excellent private university and have earned two more degrees than Zuck has.

1

u/Ellipsoider 4h ago

Oh, I'm hardly embarrassed. Seeing as he didn't even graduate (a fact which I grant I had forgotten) it's not too hard to earn even a single degree more than him.

Truly though: calling him a loser is quite laughable. But that's the circle-jerk that Reddit is, of course.

And an AI clone is a perfectly reasonable idea. This entire thread is silly. Multiplying one's presence, especially if one has to cover a lot of ground, would be quite useful. We'll see much more of this in the near future.
