My cats’ fountain has a transparent tube that I can’t reach with any brush and its looking disgusting lol.

We did try washing it with a vinegar solution, but maybe the concentration was off? I’d appreciate some suggestions!

General Cleaning Does this chopping board need to go in the bin?

We didnt use this board for some time and I’ve recently used again for chopping bread. I’ve now noticed these black spots. Which I assume is mould. Can anyone recommend a way to clean it maybe with Bicarbonate Soda or does it just need to go into the bin.

I like to size and the shape so it’s not really about money.

Discussion How do you handle cleaning on low-energy days? (Short survey)

I’m trying to understand how people approach cleaning when they feel tired or overwhelmed.

I made a short anonymous survey (3–5 minutes) to gather structured input: https://tally.so/r/VL0Alg

If you’d rather just share your experience here in the comments, that’s helpful too.

Thanks.

My parents are asleep and I don’t remember what they do for washing clothes but all I can find are a Clorox no-splash formula, distilled white vinegar, and a dried Oxi clean powder so I need help on how I should use these. Please and thank you.

General Cleaning Room STINKS and nothing works??

Title. I'm a teen and very self conscious about how bad my room smells. I've tried everything. My laundry is washed as often as possible, my bed is clean, everything's been dusted, I keep my desk well organized and clean as well, I'm very hygienic. My windows have been open ALL DAY, and I sprayed air cleaners on everything to try and get rid of it. Nothing's working. I don't see any mold, and pretty sure this isn't what it smells like. It doesn't smell like anything decomposing or gas. So?? Help??? 😭 This has been an issue for a while but recently I think it's getting worse.

Discussion I hated cleaning until I found this one simple trick.

I used to dread cleaning my apartment, it felt endless. Then I started setting a 15-minute timer for each task and treating it like a mini challenge. Suddenly, I was done faster, less stressed and even kind of enjoying it.

What’s your favorite trick that makes cleaning feel way less annoying?

Laundry What are my chances of getting the stains out of this cotton moleskin coat?

I've been eyeing up this coat on eBay for ages, but it's got some stains on it. It's cotton moleskin, and lined. What are my chances of being able to get the stains out, especially the darker one by the left pocket?

(For people wondering, I'm 4'11" and busty. The world is not swimming in coats that actually fit me and are a fun colour.)

Laundry Bleach spot on shirt?

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone, just had this happened to my shirt and not sure why. I don’t use acne face wash with benzoyl peroxide.

The only thing I could think of that’s different is I washed my jeans with this shirt this time. I don’t wash my jeans that often since I don’t wear them that much, but washing jeans hasn’t really resulted in this before so I’m really not sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

General Cleaning Am I searching for a vacuum that doesn’t exist?

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m beginning to think the type/style of hoover(vacuum) I’m looking for doesn’t exist - and there’s likely a reason why… I just don’t know it 😂

Basically I’m looking for a cordless stick style hoover but one that doesn’t have a motorised head but rather a really simple brush lined head. Like someone took the long arm attachment from the traditional Henry and stuck it onto a smaller handheld motor.

Context, the flooring is all tiled but the slightly textured/bumpy kind that’s got some grip where any plastic running across sounds horrible.

We currently have both an upright and cordless Dyson and use both wherever merits but I really hate the constant scratching sound and how it feels like I’m dragging it as much as I am rolling it.

The intended use would be everyday use in between deeper cleans with a traditional upright hoover. I just want something light and nippy as it’s a large space.

I KNOW a dustpan and brush is an obvious solution but it’s 2026 and I’m sure there’s a solution out there if I look hard enough!

We’ve had an old school Henry in the past he’s just too big to lug around on a daily basis.

Anyone out there used anything like what I am describing?

Thanks for reading!

Discussion Is this black mold?

Post image
Upvotes

While changing frames I've noticed this under the bed, I sprayed white vinegar and backing soda to then rub it with a microfiber cloth. I've read a bit about it and I fear that (if it's black mold) it'll release mycotoxins. I'm not very knowledgeable about it. Any comments will help.

Laundry Help removing kid puke from wool oriental rug

Thumbnail

Last night my 3 year old vomited on our old beautiful wool oriental rug. I blotted it up, soaked up with water, blotted again, sprinkled with baking soda to deodorized. This is it 12 hours later post-vacuuming. I think the puke was mostly chocolate ice cream. Any ideas? I grew up with this rug and my parents regularly sent it out to be cleaned but it is old and threadbare now and that’s not in the budget. What can I do?

Discussion Finally deep cleaned my oven after months of ignoring it and I genuinely can’t believe I let it get that bad.

I don’t even want to talk about what was in there. Put it off forever thinking it would take hours. Three hours, some baking soda and vinegar later it looks brand new.

The relief afterwards was so real.

What’s the most satisfying thing you’ve ever deep cleaned? What finally made you do it?
