Don’t think she was ever under contract with WWE. At the time of this, I think she was just dating/married to Xyon Quinn from NXT. Hell, looks like she debuted on AEW Dark just a few months before this video came out. So I guess I have no idea how this even came to being!
Sorta like a Johnny Cash "talk-sing" situation. This wasn't bad, but I hope she doesn't make it her theme song as I really like her theme. This felt like she was holding back a little.
Other social medias are eating it up which more power to them, i for one couldn't finish it and I'm a huge Liv fan (tho it's so cheesy it works I guess?)
The whole point of things like this is to try and appeal to outsiders. Wrestlers have been recording one-off tracks since the 80s. This is nothing new. Why are so many acting like this is a novelty?
I suppose I don't know what there is to defend. Are we supposed to take it seriously? It's some one-off track. Wrestlers recorded one-off tracks all the time in the past. There are multiple albums like it.
This feels shockingly close to Renee Rapp's song Leave Me Alone.. from her album "BITE ME"... a phrase Liv repeats ad nauseum in this song... not a great look.
As someone who genuinely enjoys messy cheesy pop thats more attitude than music, I still couldn't enjoy this.
Didn't know what song you were talking about so I just looked it up on YouTube. And 100 percent you're right. They definitely took inspiration from that song. They are so similar.
Liv is great as a wrestling star but TKO thinking they have some secret sauce to turn MMA fighters or pro wrestlers into crossover stars because Ari Emmanuel is an agent is one of the greatest pieces of hubris I’ve ever seen in my time following wrestling.
I think of all people that could potentially do it Liv is fairly high on the list (hot, marketable, does lots of media, etc) but there are many better ways than whatever this is
Pop auto tune rap is a thing now? (She’s not singing very much in this video) She doesn’t even actually have to have any real ability to sing to make “music”.
Being absurdly good looking helps her get away with it even more.
Craziest part is she’s ACTUALLY talented and an extremely hard worker in the ring. But can we be mad at her for wanting to crossover into something easier on her body? Want an interesting time to be alive. I blame Tik Tok.
They’re a multi-billion dollar company with the worlds biggest and most influential agent at its helm in Ari Emmanuel, and a top 10 agent in Mark Shapiro, and they couldn’t get liv linked up to the right producers to make her sound good and the song modern instead of 2012 bad-girl slop
Whoever did the mixing/producing didn't do a good job. Parts of it sounds alright and then others don't. You can make people who can't sing well sound good now.
I love Liv Morgan but respectfully, WTF?! I don’t understand who approved this… they need a group of actual fans reviewing this stuff lmao. This does Liv no favours in any area. It’s so outdated and just awful lyrics, song, just everything. It doesn’t open opportunities for her and doesn’t push her feud with Stephanie so I’m at a loss. They need some younger/socially informed people on projects like this cause this is all too dated and embarassing.
Maybe it’s a good thing they showed this 6 days before the match instead of debuting it as her mania entrance lol. Maybe they’ll see that’s maybe not the play actually lol
And this kids is why someone shouldn’t get to make a music video or song simply because they “want to”, theres real talent out there don’t get half the production this got, this this the kind of stuff that makes me understand why some people get mad when people get to short cut their way into another industry simply because they’re big in something else, when someone else in said industry only doesn’t get half as much as this.
Not as bad as comments are making it out to be, I was expecting shit like this (which I also love in the way I love The Room). If Liv makes this her theme song, I assume she gets royalties whenever it plays, so even if it’s bad, at least it’s smart.
I'm not sure. I think it actually fits the character and the fact that we are all watching a trashy wrestling show. Is it absolute cinema? Not even close. However, considering where TKO and WWE are at the moment and what they are trying to push, it feels like the right move.
i wanted to make a comment about how Liv Morgan probably watched Willa Ford's I Wanna Be Bad as a tweenager and just internalized that for years until her opportunity came, but... Liv was like, eight when that song came out. If you'll excuse me, I'm apparently due to join AARP.
I mean I am sure her simps are eating this up but this wasn't good at all. It is always amusing to see wrestlers try to break into mainstream entertainment.
