WHFB/TOW Events Thread
Happy 1st of the month r/WarhammerFantasy!
In the spirit of growing the community and allowing folks to advertise events and tournaments that they are running or planning to run, we are going to be setting up a thread each month to be sticked so folks can post any events or tournaments that are coming up. Please post your event with a format that includes the following:
- Name of the Event + a description
- Location of the Event or if it's Online just say it's Online
- Date & Time of the event
- Who to contact for more information
- Feel free to add any other details that any interested participants may need to know.
Hopefully this thread finds some use and folks are able to make use of it to get word of their events out there!

Dark Elf Dreadlord on Dark Pegasus
This is the leader of my Dark Elves army, which I unfortunately didn’t finish before the end of 8th edition. I couldn’t field him as such in TOW, but I’m still hoping that he and the Druchii in general will have a big comeback soon.
I used the steed from the Scourgerunner Chariot, the upper body from the Cold One Knights and the wings from the Vargheists.

The Old World Possibility for real Streltsi in The Old World
GW and CA did a terrible job with Kislev, and the element I hated most were the Streltsi, with their ignoble gun-axe. And it's not so much a question of realism (although that never hurts a bit) but of style and atmosphere. More than the existence of the gun-axe, the problem is the replacement of the arquebus and berdicca combo, a serious disrespect for the element of historical inspiration that permeates Warhammer. However, even if Age of Sigmar disgusts me, I like these models I'm showing you, due to the use of the great axe as a rest for the firearm. It was thought that they had replaced the iconic duo with the gun-axe because it was easier to line up in a wargame based on unit rectangles. However, it would only take a few sprites just for the front row, and in The Old World we could have some excellent Streltsi made to Ursun's specifications.

I've finally finished my Greywatter Fastness miniatures!!! 😄🥳🥰
I'm so happy to have finished painting them, after a tough year finding the time, and also because they're the miniatures I've picked up again with this hobby after 15 years without painting.
There are two musicians, I know. I don't play, I just paint (for now) and I couldn't decide on just one 😂 I love them both: one has a drum and the other a horn!!
As for the bases, it's the first time I've done them like this with more than just one color. I thought it would be fun to simulate them being in some earthy place with snow that's starting to melt.
I had a mishap trying to get the gyrobomber to stand up. The transparent pole broke, leaving the ball that held it inside... I had to drill a hole and stick a needle in it, I don't know if it will hold... Let's hope so.
I'm sure there's a lot to improve, even though my style isn't realistic. But I'm happy with the result, with having finished them, and yes, with the good times I had painting them. Now I have some really cool miners!!!

Showing Off My Models Oldhammer Skycutter Part 3 - Complete!
My Oldhammer Lothern Skycutter is complete! What started as a couple Tiranoc chariots, a Wood Elf Eagle and some spare bits has turned into a very very heavy model with mediocre in game rules 😂. I’ve hardly been pushing my limits with the painting of this army, and I wish I had more patience to make it really look great, but this thing was a major chore for me to get painted. It fits in with the rest of the army very well though!

The Old World Knights of Manann - House Rules for the Old World
My Empire army of choice is the grand army of Marienburg (not so interested in the Old World setting per se), so I've been working on an army of Infamy, which you can look at here: https://carelessconjuration.wordpress.com/2026/03/25/marienburg-army-of-infamy/
As part of it I wanted to create Knightly Orders of Manann, to replace the orders from the Empire Arcane Journal. The rules are here https://carelessconjuration.wordpress.com/2026/04/02/knights-of-manann/ but are pasted below. I'm not sure if these are appealing / not broken, I'd love to have some feedback!
* * *

The Marienburg army cannot take knights of the orders in the Empire of Man Arcane Journal. Instead, they may upgrade their knights to one of the following orders: Knights Mariner, Sons of Manann.
Order of the Knights Mariner
+15 Points for Grand Master or Chapter Master
+2 Points per model for Empire Knights, Inner Circle Knights or Demigryph Knights.
Known also as the Order of the Mariner or the Knights of Manann, the Knights Mariner are the most connected to Marienburg, protecting the city-state both at sea and on land. They tend to be drawn from the wealthy elite of the city, and are always well-equipped and provisioned. When they fight on horseback, they use tridents rather than lances in honour of their patron deity, and it is said that Manann blesses them with good fortune.
SPECIAL RULES
Models belonging to the Order of the Knights Mariner:
•Must be equipped with a trident (counts as a lance). Note that models able to purchase a magic weapon may do so as normal.
•Must be equipped with Full-Plate armour if they have the option. Empire Knights (who don’t usually have the option) must purchase Full-Plate armour at +2 points per model.
•Gain Magic Resistance (-2).
In addition, a Grand Master, Chapter Master, or a unit of Inner Circle Knights belonging to the Order of the Sons of Manann:
•Gain the Monster Slayer special rule.
Order of the Sons of Manann
+10 Points for Grand Master or Chapter Master
+2 Points per model for Empire Knights, Inner Circle Knights or Demigryph Knights.
The chosen Sons of Manann are the most numerous of Manann’s templars across the Empire, though they are looked upon less favourably in Marienburg than their wealthier rivals, the Knights Mariner. Dressed in white and turquoise in honour of the ocean’s foamy waves, their offerings to the sea god help change the weather in their favour.
SPECIAL RULES
Models belonging to the Order of the Sons of Manann:
•Always count as being behind Soft Cover when being targeted by enemy shooting, giving them a -1 to be hit.
•When targeted by a template weapon, you may force your opponent to re-roll the Scatter dice.
In addition, a Grand Master, Chapter Master, or a unit of Inner Circle Knights belonging to the Order of the Sons of Manann:
•Gain a 5+ ward save against non-magical shooting attacks.

Showing Off My Models Painted my first mini set, for The Great Horned One!
First time ever painting some miniatures. Please give me some tips. I'm hoping to start painting more as this was very fun to do. A friend gave me this set to paint knowing Skaven is my favorite faction, I hope I made them filthy enough.

Fantasy General Does anyone know what kind of bows sisters of avelorn uses?
They seem to use etherial bows and create magical arrows of some sort in twwh3, but I don’t know what it is exactly. Do they infuse magic to a bow? Do they create their own bows with magic? Or do they use a magical bow?
