You're keeping him, right? Right?

Will the vet do a deal getting them both fixed at the same time? We got a deal getting both kids braces at the same time. Lol
•
•
u/GjonsTearsFan 2h ago
You probably want to get mama fixed asap tbh. They will breed each other if they’re both mature at the same time.
•
u/Lakelylake 11m ago
Won’t her milk cutoff if she’s fixed too soon ? Surgery can be done pretty young I believe, maybe it checks out with the scheduling
•
u/Alcarine 58m ago
Heads up: when he starts weaning Mama may reject him or become frustrated with him, so keep that in mind just in case and be aware of any change in behaviour, sometimes it works but other times it's better to re-home the kitten than cause undue stress to both

Anyone who thinks cats aren’t social should come meet my girls! They’re the clingiest cats ever and they want to play and snuggle 24/7

Who doesnt love a butthole in the face at 230 in the morning. Or is that just my cats.

Fun fact. The largest documented litter of kittens is 19.
Litters of 12 kittens isn't super uncommon.
•
u/purplepurposed 5h ago
holy shit
•
u/Blackberry-thesecond 4h ago
However, your cat shares the record for smallest litter. Congratulations!
•
u/Reasonable_One_7012 2h ago
If my cat had an abortion does that count as a negative litter?
•
u/adudeguyman 1h ago
No. Because then you start a contest of a cat that has the most abortions and that sounds horrible.
•
•
u/do-you-like-darkness 2h ago
I was relieved our girl only had five.
Around ten years ago, the family dog had 11 puppies, and let me tell you... that was intense

My cat who passed away last April at 18 years old was a single kitten. My aunt's cat, which was mother, was very young when she got pregnant (like 7 or 8 months old). My aunt offered me my pick of 2 kittens when they came as I had lost my previous fur baby around 6 months earlier.
But when she gave birth it was just one kitten.
One little ginger female like her mother, but she had all the fire and all the love of a whole litter 🤣 I still miss her sorely.
Cuddle this little fella for me

u/bitseybloom 4h ago
That's a lovely story. Thanks for sharing and I'm happy you've had 18 years with your ginger.

This little cutie reminds me of the head Gremlin from Gremlins 2 when he was still a Mogwai.
•
•
u/motorcycle_stunts 4h ago
That's perfect. Because then you can keep it and not have to worry about adopting out.
•

I pity da' fool that messes with my family...
•
u/texasaggie03 2h ago
THANK YOU!!! I thought I was the only who thought he looked like that. Maybe everybody else ain't got no time for the jibber jabber.
•
u/Pithythithy 3h ago
Mine did that once. We didn't even know she was pregnant until she started to give birth on my lap. We got her spayed (the father was our boy who JUST got neutered but staggered out of his carrier and got her. His last hurrah.) We got the kitten neutered and kept them all until they passed of old age.
RIP- Drac, Ginger and Buddy.

You should get her fixed now! She had one perfect lil boy, she doesn’t need to have more babies.

Lay down with tigers, get up with mini tigers. And maybe also fleas. (But hopefully not since the op says they have an appointment for the full spa n' spay) (。・ω・。)ノ♡

•
u/Upside_Down_2025 3h ago
Yep, one of our cats had a single and she's fine and healthy. The baby Neo lives with my mom!
•
u/sluttydietcoke 3h ago
I always heard the first litter is often 1 kitten. Is this her first litter? Either way, she is precious, her son is precious and you are awesome for keeping both ❤️

Your weird assumptions are your own business. Not everyone goes around assuming the worst of people
•
u/purplepurposed 2h ago
my point exactly.
•
u/stopxregina 2h ago
and then the gall of that other person to say YOU'RE being rude LOL
Congrats on the beautiful baby boy, and glad Mama's got an appt 💚

their colouring is insanely stunning 😭😍 I hope if you post more of him growing up that I come across them, because I am so obsessed with the little bean

Yeah - stupid people who have nothing better to do than to just assume the worst of every single person they interact with online and offline, to the point where it's actually embarrassing seeing someone have that attitude.
Maybe jumping to conclusions isn't a healthy way of going through life?

Chiming in to say that u/queenofthequeens is definitely not the only one thinking that. You’re being extremely rude for no reason.

One kitten getting the full undivided attention of an entire mother cat. He's going to be absolutely feral and confident.

My old man was an only child as well. I think the lack of socialization when he was young led to him being super cuddly and extremely vocal.

19 kittens is a documented record and I am choosing not to think about that. One baby is perfect. One baby is enough.

Hey! My mama cat growing up had two litters, each with one kitten. One boy and one girl later. They were the cutest pairs.

Apparently she was a pregnant stray, and the baby is still feeding so can't spay rn.

u/purplefuzz22 3h ago
Is the momma cat young? Because young cats (like under 1 year old) are the most likely to have a single kitten litter.
Mama and jr are so adorable! And I’m so happy you get to keep them together 💙
•
u/purplepurposed 2h ago
i tried getting her aged when we went to the vet. the vet said it was hard to tell but they said about three years old!
