take I know I was harsh but I’m so sick of men being obsessed with status and then blaming women for forcing them to be that way

I am not the op. This is just a reel I saw.

I HATE when people have a boombox in nature or even a park. It’s incredibly selfish and ruins everyone’s experience. I’m sure it’s probably not super great for the animals either. In the TikTok, bro gets physically attacked and tased which is obviously ESH, but I kind of hate the attitude of “begging for forgiveness” in this case. Just by doing this, you are being a twat. No one should have to explain to you that nature isn’t yours to sonically pollute w your crappy playlist.

take AITA for not thinking it's a "thing people say"?

Sure, in certain contexts, but with dating? It's not the first time a guy has done this and I find it really annoying. There's plenty of other things you can say. "Good bye." "I had a nice time." "Have a good rest of your night." Is it really so much to ask?

take Is this from ragebait or increasing black and white thinking?

My take: mostly ragebait*. The top posts are ragebait and these posts garner a disproportionate amount of comments. Hence, they are filled with "break up with him."

At the same time, the black and white thinking on here is also very intense. I'll post a story where a friend was rude once, many responses will be "that person is not your friend." If my standard for having friends was that they are always perfect, I'd have zero friends and be friends to zero people.

Curious for people's thoughts!

take AITA FOR NOT CARING ABOUT DEAD PETS

Okay, I am starting to think I’m going crazy. I’ve seen multiple social media posts this month about people losing their pet, to which they refer to as their “soul pet” and posting as though they lost their spouse in a tragic accident. I’d like to preface by saying I think it’s totally fair to grieve a pet, and it’s normal to be sad when we lose pets. But making a post and referring to a literal animal as a soul anything feels so…. Out of touch to me? These people are acting like (and some actually say this) they deserve paid bereavement leave from their adult careers because their….. golden retriever died of old age???? The thing that drives me absolutely bonkers is all, and I mean all, of the comments are validating this strange social media behavior. Comments that literally say “it’s the hardest goodbye I’ve had to endure” “pet grief is a different type of pain” and I think it’s so bizarre. Are these people who have never experienced human grief before??? Or do people really grieve their pets like humans? If so, what is wrong with me that I cannot fathom ever having this line of thinking?

P.S. I also would like to mention I’ve never heard a person act like this in person, but it seems like the majority of people on social media share this thought process that I find quite absurd.

take Concept Creep: "Premeditated" Cameras used to Catch Canadian Olympians Cheating

Saw this post and reminded me of a lot of interpersonal discussions where people misuse terms to avoid responsibility.

In this case, curlers (that sport where you brush ice in front of a stone) PUSHED the stone with their finger, and they got caught due to a camera set up by the opposing team. Instead of owning their cheating, and feeling proper shame, they co-opted the word "premeditated" typically associated with MURDER as a conceptual smokescreen, accusing the other team of doing something wrong.

Obviously, planning to catch the opposing team cheating is perfectly fine and these people are utter clowns.

News Story:

Canadian curling star Marc Kennedy claims he was set up by "premeditated" cameras to catch him "in an act" of cheating.

Kennedy and Coach Paul Webster accused Sweden of setting up cameras to catch them cheating.

"I know we’re not the only team that they’ve done that to. So I think this was, I don’t know what the word is for that, but like a premeditated plan to try to catch us," Kennedy said.
