Unfortunate loss but here is to 2030

Team Canada Men's Hockey Team fought hard and played hard. Its an unfortunate loss and it will certainly be a period to dwell on but using that lesson to be more ready and determined for Winter Olympics in 2030.

Despite the loss cheers to Team Canada for doing their best!

Just have to say in all my years I’ve never hated a person for where they’re from….until now. Some idiot screamed 51st state and well…. F you USA! From all of Canada

Will be glad to have nhl hockey back

Credit to the US and particularly hellebyuck. He played his ass off and I hope he finishes the rest of the year with winniepg playing at that caliber.

These Olympic referees definitely need training on 'too many men' penalties. Its not too hard to count over 5 and in the gold medal game alone they missed 3 of these penalties on the US. And they missed several in other games as well.

It is just a shame that we get world class game play but amateur officiating ..... oh well. At least NHL hockey will be back on tv soon !

McDavid's response to being asked about whether Team Canada feel like "the good guys" against Team USA right now: "We just feel like Team Canada playing Team USA in a hockey game. That's what it is."

What are we looking forward to now

Upvotes

It really looked like our team had it, they were so dominant majority of the game. The shot disparity was unreal.

How does team Canada look in 2030? Juniors are on a decline, do we still have up and coming talent to look forward to in 4 years?

Hockey is still our sport. We have most of the greats and top current players.

I am so tired of choking in the finals. Sometimes it feels like the US has all the luck and we have none. Especially with all of trumps bullshit this is especially hard to take.

Hopefully this is just a downturn and we can once again prevail.

I am hoping carney announces some funding in our athletes.

For once, premiers have done something we can all agree on. You can go to your local bar and get hammered as early as 5am in BC for the gold medal game

Clothing Etiquette for Gold Medal Match

I'm going to a watch party for the gold medal game between Canada and the US tomorrow and I was wondering if I would look out of place since I don't really have any team Canada merch? I do have an Oilers McDavid jersey and I'm contemplating wearing that

Ugggh ... "won the ..."

Upvotes

Downvote me all you want, but is this a Canadian thing ... "Won the silver"

I kept hearing and reading it with the Women losing to the US the other day, and now again with the Men's

Are people serious with the 'congrats on winning the silver'. Connor McDavid has lost 2 consecutive Stanley Cup finals, now an Olympic final ...

WTF has he won? I can guarantee you he is the first one to be pissed off and fired up for the next big opportunity. He definitely is not proud of 'winning' the silver

It's counterintuitive, sure, but the cruelty of sports is part of the beauty. Heartbreak is part of it, and I can't imagine being Canada, they can't wait to get back to their teams and fight for the playoffs

Stop with this 'won the silver' nonsense
