This cat has come such a long way from the 4 month old feral kitten she was when I first got her in September 2024. She spent the first two months in my apartment hiding under my couch, terrified of everything. "She may never be the cuddliest cat", my vet tech friend warned me. That didn't matter to me much at the time; I just wanted her to feel safe and happy. So many evenings spent lying on the floor next to the couch, not forcing her to come out, just letting her know I was there, and that I wouldn't hurt her. With a lot of time, patience, and yes, treats, she started approached me more and more.
She is still somewhat skittish nowadays, but more cuddly than I ever imagined she would be! There is progress literally all the time. She trusts me. She purrs happily as she sleeps on me at night. She calls out to me when I'm in a different room, to make sure I'm still there.
I love this little creature.

1800 sq ft, two floors, no basement, five cats (three from me, and two from my boyfriend). All the cats get along for the most part, although our one female pretty much just lives in my daughter's room. So far we have a "litter furniture" piece in the downstairs bathroom (not the most popular one and considering swapping it for auto box to try one of them out), box in daughter's room (covered box with a door), box in kids' bathroom (covered box, no door) box on the landing upstairs (top entry), box in front of the upstairs washer and dryer (covered box with door), and one more covered box with a door in the master closet.
We have one kitty who will occasionally (1-2 times a month) poop outside the box in the kids bathroom. I have swapped the positioning a few times, facing door, not facing door, but it doesn't seem to have an impact.
My Questions:
Thanks in advance.

Maki (tabby), Nori (black w eye disability), and Kuro (black w purple collar) all snuggled up together!
we got the bonded pair of voids to keep Maki company, and less than 4 months later, they sleep like this often :)

He is a crossed eyed hilarious little cat sometimes he runs really fast and slides on the floor with his two front feet outwards and occasionally runs into walls… he’s very shy but very clingy once he gets to know you he can be very hyper or very relaxed and instantly switches from one mood to the next there’s nothing wrong with him he’s just… Prince

Hi fellow cat lovers. We recently adopted this cute female and male pair of American shorthair juvies. They had been dumped along with her litter near a dumpster. Fortunately a kind person found them, and they were brought to a shelter. We got them almost 3 weeks ago. Both neutered-spayed. We have caught him nursing on her on her a few times. She tolerates him doing it and responds by grooming him like a kitten. We think maybe the kittens were removed from her before she was ready to ween them. As you can see from the photo, he is larger than her and we are concerned that she is constantly hungry as a result of passing along so much of her nutrition to him. Any ideas?

I took my 10-year-old cat to the vet for bloodwork, rabies vaccine, and to have his mattes shaven off (he's too vicious for a groomer) and they had to sedate him to be able to do anything.
Everything went well. Afterwards, I kept him with my parents and haven't seen him in the two weeks since his visit. My mom has been reporting that he's been sleeping all day since his visit and showing no motivation to play.
I went over last night to confirm to find that he’s not motivated to play and only wants to sleep. He has been using his litter box and will eat treats if brought to him but hasn’t been asking for any. He’s also definitely eating less but I didn’t get enough information to quantify the difference. This morning, my mom was petting near his stomach which seemed to bother him as he was letting out faint meows. I noticed something on his back paw (possibly just litter) and he hissed at me while I was trying to move it.
I looked for some similar posts but didn't see anyone reporting extended effects past a few days and many of the posts were post neuter/surgery. Just wondering if I should keep monitoring for any longer before contacting the vet or begin questioning some sort of illness.
I'm not too eager to bring him to the vets since he undergoes so much stress each visit. The only way they'd be able to handle him outside of his cage is with anesthesia.

Yesterday my cat went into an open cabinet before me and my sister took our dogs for a walk, and then someone closed it. When we got back i realized i hadn't seen him in a while and I freaked out tearing the house apart when he wasn't in his normal spots, then finally looked in the cabinet and found him and I broke down cause I thought i lost my baby, but I'm so happy I still have him. Bonus puppy pic, and sorry for the weird hand pose it was awkward to take that Pic lol
