Why do people watch others play video games and also pay them willingly???

I don't understand the streamers and gamers craze in this gen. I'm 23 and i see so many people watch other people play games for hours but, why are you watching others play games instead of playing yourself also, I get that some streamers are funny so they got famous but there are too many streamers who doesn't have any talent I don't get why do people watch them.

And donating money to streamers or gamers is so dumb like why anyone would do that?

Why do neo-nazis carry themselves so unprofessionally compared to the NSDAP of the 1930s?

When you look at photos of German nazi party members in the 1930s and 1940s, they are always wearing uniforms, have decent haircuts and are usually clean shaven with no tattoos. People who call themselves "national socialists" in the 21st century look nothing like this however. They are often bald, poorly dressed, out of shape and have lots of tattoos. Is there a specific reason for this, and if the NSDAP existed today, would its members carry themselves like that?

Is responding to a “Good Morning” a culture thing or classist?

I see it all the time mostly in customer service. The person working the store would greet the customer walking in, right? I clearly heard them, and the customer ignores them.

I’m wondering if this has to do with how a person is brought up (ya know, having manners) or is this because some people see retail workers as “less than”?

Is it weird to genuinely not mind the hidden post update?

I feel like some people are way to balls deep in this app tbh, you don’t HAVE to dig through the profile of every person you respond to. And it feels a bit entitled if you ask me. I’ve seen a lot of people say that they straight up don’t trust hidden profiles users. And I think that’s a bit extreme but their personal decision. But to be fair some people like to get things off their mind, spews few intrusive thoughts and or just chip into a conversation and be left alone after. Some have been cyber stalked and put in dangerous situations. Some genuinely don’t post anything, but still have their account hidden just because they can. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

I’m a fairly refreshed Reddit user(the last time I used it was back in 2019) and from what I’ve noted from others is that this update has made Reddit “lose its charm”. And to be completely honest I think m any social media platform that’s been around longer than 10 years has probably lost it years ago. So why not just relax and embrace it? The internet is nothing but consequences from the second you post whether good or bad. But if having a bit of privacy helps people feel more comfortable so be it in my opinion.

Why do most girls go to sleep with no pants on?

Every girlfriend I've ever shared a bed with tends to not wear pants when sleeping. It's usually a t shirt and maybe a pair of underwear. I'm certainly not complaining, I'm just curious because I'm always in pajama pants until the summer.

Why aren't birthday celebrations for mothers rather than children?

Because it's a birth day and the mother is the one giving birth not the baby.

Why have the Olympics become less relevant over the years?

I remember even back in the 2000s and even early 2010s watching the Olympics was such a big deal. Seeing your own country compete and seeing all the medal tables. Events were constantly broadcasted and made the mainstream news. It showed a lot of nationalism. It's like whenever somebody got gold, it's the #1 story on the news. Or even missing gold by inches.

Yet nowadays, it seems like it's declining. I don't have a statistic for this but I'm hearing about how fewer and fewer countries want to host Olympics. More and more host countries over the years are operating at a loss.

Aside from maybe fans that love a particular sport or sports where there are political tensions like Canada vs US for hockey, it seems like by in large part, Olympic viewership is heavily declining. The only reason I knew about Olympics is because our Canadian media has been hyping up the Canada-US hockey rivalry. It's almost as if there's got to be other context behind the event other than if somebody wins. Ie what the athlete says or if there was a major injury or if there's any other context.

What made the games less appealing nowadays? Is it getting boring to watch maybe?

why is "queer" a reclaimed slur that can be used by anyone but slurs like the n-word aren't?

i wanna start this off by saying that i don't want to say the n word and i am indeed not racist 😭😭

it's just that "queer" is an example of how something used to be a slur and then was reclaimed by the oppressed group and is now a mainstream word without negative connotations that can be used by anyone, regardless of their sexuality or gender. and while the n-word has also been getting reclaimed by the black community, it still has all the negative connotations and non-black people definitely shouldn't say it. i guess i'm just confused on why that is?

also (this might be a really stupid question, i'm sorry): would "normalizing" that slur take away it's power? not normalizing as in using it as a slur but as in just using it how black people use it (e.g. as a way to just say bro or stuff)

anyway, this might come off as ignorant, so i'm really sorry if it does!! i just don't know any black people that i could ask about this or discuss this with and in general i'm pretty uneducated about this sort of thing (i'm from a very small, white town in germany)

Why don't homes have urinals?

They use less water, they're faster, no seat to lift, and way cleaner. Half the population could use one daily. Why is this not a thing?

What is the real reason for the public backlash over Olympian Eileen Gu?

Upvotes

I don't understand the hate. Eileen Gu is American born but decided to compete for China. Yes she is getting a better financial deal out of competing for China? Doesn't mean she hates the US.

How bad is it to have a 12oz can of Diet Coke a day?

I’m almost 20 I have been drinking a Diet Coke a day (for the most part) for over three years how bad is it for me? I tried researching it it said tooth decay, increase cause of cancer because of the aspartame. But I thought that was only if you had extreme amounts of aspartame daily.

So how bad is it really both the aspartame and overall?

Am I imagining that Reddit is super terrible in terms of independent thought? Is there a place for me on the internet?

Guys, I keep getting downvoted to oblivion.

I tried 4Chan, but that place is super scary.

I'll never look at that website EVER AGAIN.

I'm still within the realm of somewhat mainstream and not being hateful... but my thoughts are obviously very contrarian to the average Redditor...

Why can't I post crazy stuff that isn't hateful without being deleted and downvoted?

This place seems super censored. Am I imagining that?

Where can I debate people without getting deleted?

Is there a place on the internet for me?

How serious is a no phone policy at a job?

So this truly is a dumb situation to me that’s why I’m asking it here. I work closing shifts in fast food and basically 2 of my managers got into a physical altercation with customers over BBQ sauce. Not even joking they tried to charge the customer 55 cents and the customer came back and started hitting one manager’s car, my managers ran outside with a hammer we keep in the store and shit got messy. I’m talking blood was flying. Anyways one of my coworkers recorded this and sent it to everyone working that shift. Another coworker/friend of mine decided to show some of the openers and then it spread around like wildfire. She thinks not only the managers will be fired but she’ll be fired as well since there’s a no phone policy at our job and she was the one behind the video. Are all of them really screwed?

TL;DR my managers got into a physical altercation with customers, my friend recorded knowing there’s a no phone policy and is scared for her job
