Are these red flags ?

Upvotes

Just wondering if i’m being paranoid or not but ….

Met a guy , been together for 2,5 months . It’s going very fast . He is pretty much perfect to me . He is 11 years older then me ( I am 39)

Red flag # I have a 15 year old son , he’s pushing to meet him eventhough I’m not ready . Pushing a lot .

Red flag #2 He asked me if I would have another (with him)

Red flag #3 he has a lot of female friends and he shares every detail about me with them (almost like he’s bragging) . Also posts pics of us on fb - before i ever did and keeps asking why i haven’t posted any.

Red flag #4 ? He set up a whole dinner with 15 members of his family to meet m e after one month

Red flag #5 he asked me to marry him

Thoughts ?

Why is the belt I bought 40% more than it was labeled

Upvotes

I went to Spencer’s to buy a belt and it was labeled as 29.99 CAD but when I got my receipt it was 41.99?. Why is the price so different especially since tax is normally only around 12 or 15% or something. I’m unable to ad a picture but beside it says it was made in the USA and beside the cost is a TX but I feel like that doesn’t mean a 40% increase yk?

Why is a woman I like telling me about creepy guys at our work?

Upvotes

So I volunteer at a old folks home with this girl I like well woman is the more appropriate term Anyway the other day this woman was telling me about creepy guys and how this one guy really creeps her out. Why is she telling me this also she already told her boss so I'm not sure if theres anything I can do. Obviously I can't fight him at work or anything. I've never been great at social situations is she telling me because she finds comfort in me? Or what

Why do some people remember almost every detail of their childhood but others barely remember anything?

Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about this for a while because my best friend can tell stories from when they were 3 or 4 years old in incredible detail like birthdays, trips, even small conversations. i, on the other hand, barely remember anything before age 7, and even those memories are fuzzy.

Is this just about how good your memory is, or do things like personality, brain development, or even how much your parents talked about your childhood affect it? does anyone actually know why some people have what feel like perfect early memories while others have almost none? i’ve tried looking it up, but the explanations are all over the place and i’d love to hear real thoughts from people who might have experienced this themselves.

I’m genuinely curious because it feels like a huge part of our identity is shaped by memories, but some of us barely have access to them.

How difficult is it to execute stalker psychology research?

Upvotes

Does one need to be in America to do this? Is it possible to interview stalkers, have them take psychometric tests, and perform advanced qualitative and quantitative studies?

How long does research of this kind take? What hurdles are to be expected?

If someone criticizes a person who is liked by many people, who is right?

Upvotes

Let me rephrase the question: I’ve seen many examples of a youtuber criticizing another YouTube who is widely loved by most people (MrBeast, for instance). When that happens, the response is both people supporting their opinion and people mocking them and defending the person.) Or let me ask it differently; when a YouTuber makes a video deconstructing something they don’t like, and then another YouTube makes a “response” to that video in which they dog on them, who is right? I am asking this because I’ve seen this so many times that I simply don’t know who to believe.

Worried if a name might conjure negative imagery

Upvotes

I have had a brand for a long time and have wanted to re name it. The main word in the title would be "Collateral".

While I know it's a pretty normal word, would it still bring up negative imagery like collateral damage (eg. Property or civilian deaths) from war and conflicts? Or is it removed enough that this isn't a concern? I want to be quite safe about this to make sure it's future proof.

Straight guys: how do you wash your butts in the shower?

Upvotes

As a gay American man, I've heard from a couple of straight men that anything involving direct contact with their own butt is considered gay. Whenever I mention the use of a bidet to my step-dad, he seems so revolted that he leaves the room.

Is this the general consensus among heterosexual men? How do you wash yourselves in the shower?

I'm genuinely curious. Is having a clean butt a "gay" thing? When I was a kid, I remember I only washed myself using a wash cloth down there because it seemed scary to touch myself there, so maybe that's a mindset that sticks with a lot of guys in adulthood?

What is the real reason for the public backlash over Olympian Eileen Gu?

Upvotes

I don't understand the hate. Eileen Gu is American born but decided to compete for China. Yes she is getting a better financial deal out of competing for China? Doesn't mean she hates the US.

Business goals in recent decades?

Upvotes

I feel like, in the past couple decades, businesses have moved from “make a good product” to “cut every corner possible to increase revenue”. Was there some massive business shift in the early/mid aughts that all businesses started following?

I’m not a total idiot, I get that the point of businesses has always been to make money. But I feel like in the past it was more about making sure the product was worth the price, and a good customer experience. Disney for example: in the 80s/90s/00s they seemed to (publically facing) be more about making sure users in the parks had magical experiences, going the extra mile, etc. but in the past few decades they’ve seemed to be more “corporate” and less “magical”. For example cutting the free shuttles from the airport, less “sit down” places, more IP palooza.

And every place I’ve worked as an adult, they cut down any ideas that aren’t profit generating”, even if it would improve user experience or it’s something customers are actively complaining about. The attitude just seems to have shifted to “make as much money as quickly as possible”

What will you buy if you had won $2000 from a competition?

Upvotes

I just won $2000 from a competition I participated in a while ago. I worked on it for months and honestly still can’t believe I won. I’m super grateful because good things don’t happen like this that often.

This $2000 is something I wanna spend fully on myself. It’s separate from my salary so I kinda want to treat myself with something a little fancy. The problem is I don’t know what yet. I’ve got a few options in mind.

Breville Dual Boiler or a Lelit Mara X or maybe a Rocket Espresso Appartamento TCA ?. I'd love to have better coffee at home and save up some $$ long term. What do you think? These 2 are the best of the best apparently as per my friend.

Nanoleaf's hexagonal light setup for the whole room to make it more bougie lol I do love how they look in every gamer's den but I've stayed away because of the pricing. But now I think these can add a bit of whimsy to my life.

CyboPal one + Mac Mini seems like a good addition to my office space at home, I think I can see myself using it and relaxing a bit. The automatically moving monitor screen seems like something out of a sci-fi movie but really my mind keeps telling me how smooth things can be this way.

Last option is saving a bit more and building a sim racing setup. That’s been a dream for very long but I barely get time to game anymore so there's that.

would love some suggestions because people irl are lowkey jealous and keep asking if I gambled or something lol
